1935. Robert Allison.'' He was a bachelor, and d. in Tennessee.<br />

licensed to preach. His death occurred in Gibson Co., Tenn.<br />

1937. Jane Allison,* m. Rev. Charles Hodge, both of Gibson Co., Tenn.;<br />

she d. in Tenn.<br />

1938. Nancy Freeman Allison,' m. Jonathan Dryden, both of Gibson<br />

Co., Tenn. Removed to Cumberland, Coles Co., 111. They are<br />

deceased, but left a family.<br />

Rev. John Allison was born on Sugar Creek, Mecklenburg<br />

Co., North Carolina, Dec. 8, 1801 ; was reared and worked<br />

upon<br />

a farm until he was married. He then studied for the<br />

ministry, and was pastor, or acting pastor, in Murfreesborough,<br />

Shelbyville, Clarksville, Nashville, and Symma, Tenn.<br />

He went to Princeton, Ken., and had charge of a female<br />

seminary and was pastor of the First Presbyterian church.<br />

He went to Kentucky in 1844, and died March 7, 1845. He<br />

was a Presbyterian of the old school. Mr. Allison married,<br />

Feb. 7, 1822, Nancy, daughter of Robert and Jane (McCullough)<br />

Lemmond. She was born in Charlotte, N. C, March<br />

2, 1798 ; died in Windsor, Mo., Feb. 17, 1864.<br />

1940. Robert Cyrus Allison,* b. Dec. 7, 1822, in Mecklenburg Co., N. C. ;<br />

raised to manhood in Tennessee; physician. He received his<br />

medical education in Louisville, Ky. He m. Catlierine Weiss,<br />

of Louisville, April 16, 1844; rn., second, Elvira McCarthy.<br />

Dr. Allison died near Princeton, Ky., December, 1866. Chil-<br />
