1814. Amelia Allison.' She m. Edward Swaithout, a widower. He is a<br />

farmer. They reside at Clarkstowu, Rockland Co., N. Y. No<br />

children.<br />

John,^ John,2 Lawrence^). He was born at Haverstraw,<br />

N. Y., Oct. 2, 1800. He received a good education, and became<br />

a carpenter. For many years he was employed at<br />

Peck's rolling-mills in Haverstraw. He built his dwelling<br />

on a few acres of land which had been given him by his<br />

father, situated on the road to Ramapo, and about one mile<br />

from Mount Repose cemetery. There he and his family<br />

lived until he was far advanced in life, when he removed to<br />

the village of Haverstraw and established a bakery business<br />

which he carried on for several years. He and his wife and<br />

children were all members of the Methodist Episcopal church,<br />

and were sincere and devoted Christian^. He died Aug. 1,<br />

1861, and is buried in Mount Repose cemetery.<br />

He married, Feb. 7, 1829, Emeline Felter, who was born<br />

at Haverstraw, N. Y., Sept. 9, 1809. Hers was a truly<br />

Christ-like character. Her gentleness of spirit was an inspiration<br />

of goodness to all with whom she came in contact.<br />

Her life was devoted to her home and family. She died in<br />

Haverstraw, March 8, 1866.<br />

1818. Mary Elmira Allison,' b. Jan. 20, 1833. She is a member of the<br />

Methodist Episcopal church. Unmarried.<br />

1818. Edward Allison,' b. Aug. 24, 183.5; d. Jan. 19, 1837.<br />

1S19. Emily Adelaide Allison,' b. Aug. 24. 1838; d. Aug. 20, 1865, and is<br />

buried in Mount Repose cemetei'y, in Haverstraw, N. Y.<br />

1820. Erastus T. Allison,' b. May 12, 1843. He enlisted in the 17th<br />

Kegt. N. Y. Vols, during the late war. He was taken ill in<br />

the service, returned home, and died of typhoid fever Oct. 16,<br />

1865. Bviried in Mount Repose cemetery in Haversti-aw.<br />

1821. Ann Sophia Allison,' b. Feb. 13, 1848; ra. Isaac W. Abrams, of<br />

Haverstraw. They are members of the Methodist Episcopal<br />

church.<br />
