Sept. 5, 1849, aged 64 years, 11 months, 5 days. He was a<br />

house carpenter. She was handsome when young, was conscientious<br />

and upright, and faithful in all life's relations.<br />

They lived in New York city, and later in Haverstraw. She<br />

survived her husband. Children:<br />

I. Walter Demarest,' b. May 13, 1809; d. unmarried Aug. 2, 1833.<br />

II. Catherine Demarest,' b. April 7, 1811; d. March 2, 1830; unmarried.<br />

III. Samuel Demarest,' b. Dec. 13, 1817; d. Jan. 29, 1850; unmarried.<br />

IV. Mary Demarest,' m. Isaac Stevens; res. Haverstraw, N. Y., and<br />

later removed to the West. Three children.<br />

V. Willamena Deraarest,' m. Moses Springsteed. She d. in the asylum<br />

for the insane at Utica, N. Y. res. West Chester ; Co., N. Y.<br />

Two of the children married men by the name of Waldron.<br />

VI. Matthias Demarest,' m. Hannah Perry, of Clarkstown, Rockland<br />

Co., N. Y. Children: Perry Demarest.' Emma Demarest.s<br />

Walter Demarest,' b. at Haverstraw, N. Y.; house carpenter;<br />

married, and has two children; res. Haverstraw, N. Y.<br />

N. Y. She m. Matthias Coe, b. Oct. 28, 1792, who d. without<br />

children. She m., second, Jonas Dubois, a farmer, and<br />

removed to the vicinity of Geneva, N. Y. They had several<br />

children.<br />

1724. Catherine Allison,' b. May 18, 1798; m. Benjamin Coe, b. Nov. 7,<br />

1794; d. May 26, 1851, in Haverstraw, N. Y. They lived for<br />

awhile near Rochester, N. Y., but returned to Haverstraw and<br />

spent their lives. She d. Aug. 15, 1878. Children:<br />

I. Jonas Coe ' was a wagon maker in New Y^ork, N. Y. ; m. Emma<br />

. She d. in the city of New York, Jan. 28, 1889, and is<br />

buried in Mount Repose cemetery, Haverstraw, N. Y. One<br />

child.<br />

II. Adelphi Coe,« b. July 26, 1819; d. Nov. 21, 1877, at Haverstraw,<br />

N. Y. ; single.<br />

III. Halsted Coe,' mason; res. Yonkers, N. Y., and d. there. He m.<br />

Sarah Perry, of Clarkstown, N. Y. One son.<br />

IV. Marietta Coe,' m. David Romaine. She res. in 1890 in Haverstraw,<br />

N. Y. Child : Laura Romaine,' m. Elmer Tremper, of Haverstraw,<br />

and res. there.<br />
