1695. Peter Allison ^<br />

Lawrence^). He was born in Haverstraw, N. Y. He inherited<br />

the homestead from his father, and resided for many<br />

years in Haverstraw in the old stone honse of Benjamin<br />

Allison, northeast of the Plrst Presbyterian chnrch, about<br />

one half mile distant, and at the junction of the old Benson<br />

and Grassy Point roads. He added to his possessions, and<br />

was a substantial and prosperous farmer. He ranked high<br />

among his fellow-citizens, and possessed abilities of no common<br />

order. He resided near the lime kilns, with his family,<br />

on the Byron place, in North Haverstraw, which he had purchased.<br />

He was twice married. The name of his first wife<br />

is not known. They had five children. He married, second,<br />

Mrs. Earl, of New York city. He died in 1815.<br />

1697. Leah Allison.*" After the death of lier sister, Hannah, she married<br />

her brother-in-law, Baxter June. They res. in 1698.<br />

N. Y., in a small frame dwelling, near the foot of the hill, on<br />

the opposite side of the highway from the old chemical works,<br />

and near the First Presbyterian church. No children.<br />

Hannah Allison." She was a smart, enterprising, and fine looking<br />

woman, a tailoress by trade, and supported herself by her<br />

needle, working in different families. She m. Baxter June,,a<br />

man of indolent habits, but of strong build and large frame.<br />

Her sister, Leah, and brother, John Allison, lived with her in<br />

Haverstraw, where she died about ten years after her marriage.<br />

Children: Loretto June,' and a son.<br />

John Allison." Res. in Haverstraw with his sisters, and d. unmarried.<br />

He was a farmer by occupation, and a prominent man<br />

in the town. In the militia he was a lieutenant, and held public<br />

positions. He was a person of fine ai^pearance and high<br />

moral character.<br />

Sarah Allison." She was a dressmaker: res. ISTew Y'ork, N". Y.<br />

Elizabeth Allison." She m. Lemuel Jvme, who was a justice of<br />

the peace and held other town offices. He was a person of<br />

ability. He managed a freight sloop which carried brick and<br />

plied between Haverstraw and the city of New Y'ork. Children:<br />

Baxter June,' Charles June,' and others.<br />

Lawrence 1). He was born in Haverstraw, N. Y., and by<br />

his father's will he received in that town a tract of land of<br />
