1617. William Allison, aged 29, was in Co. G, S6tli Eeg't, N. Y. Vols.;<br />

enlisted at Canisteo, N. Y.<br />

1618. William I. Allison, aged 20, was in Co. F, 95th Reg't, X. Y. Vols.;<br />

enlisted at Haverstraw, Rockland Co., N. Y.<br />

1619. Cornelius Allison, aged 20, was in Co. F, 9.')th Reg't, iST. Y. Vols.;<br />

enlisted at Haverstraw, Rockland Co., X. Y.<br />

1620. Joseph Allison was in Co. A, 70th Reg't, N. Y. Vols. This company<br />

was recruited at Paterson, N. J., and in the city of New<br />

York.<br />

1621. Frank Alliston, 2.3 yrs, old, was a private in Co. K, 72d Reg't,<br />

N. Y. Vols. This company was recruited in New York, N. Y.<br />

" The History of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, N. J.,"<br />

has the following :<br />

1622. John Ellison is named as a witness in court proceedings in 1705.<br />

1623. Richard Ellison's will was dated March 5, 1719, proven Dec. 23,<br />

1723.<br />

1624. Daniel Ellison was taxed in Freehold, N. J., in 1776, for eighty-six<br />

acres of land and other property.<br />

These parties all lived in Monmouth and Ocean counties, N. J.<br />

From that interesting work published by the state of New<br />

York, entitled " Documents Relative to Colonial History of<br />

the State of New York," procured in Holland, England, and<br />

France by John Romeyer Broadhead, Esq., agent of the legislature<br />

to procure and transcribe documents in Europe relative<br />

to the colonial history of the state, and edited by E. B.<br />

O'Callaghan, M. D., LL. D,, the following references are<br />

taken :<br />

On Sept. 3, 1664, Sir Robert Carr, at Fort James in New York, was<br />

ordered to subdue the Dutch at Fort Delaware. The fort was stormed<br />

and captured Oct. 13, 1664. He reported to Colonel Nichols, and re-<br />

quested him to send him two men, whose services he needed, in these<br />

words,—"<br />

Lett mee begg ye favor of you to send Mr. Allison and Mr.<br />

Thompson, the one to ye reedifvingof the fort, ye other to fix our arms."<br />

—Vol. Ill, p. 74.<br />

The Christian name of Mr. Allison is not given.<br />

A number of loyal citizens of New York city, adherents of King William<br />

(Prince of Orange) and his wife. Queen Mary (New York was then<br />

an English province), drew up a document declaring their abhorrence to<br />

illegal proceedings of certain men in the province. It was to have been<br />
