746. David Allison^ of Glasgow, <strong>Scotland</strong>, said to be a<br />

brother of the noted William Allison of that city, emigrated<br />

to Ashe county, North Carolina His wife was Nancy Black.<br />

He was a farmer and stock raiser ; a member of the Masonic<br />

order. Their son,<br />

747. Samuel Allisou,^ born in Glasgow, <strong>Scotland</strong>, married<br />

Rebecca Scott ; lived and died in Ashe county. North Carolina<br />

; was a farmer and stock raiser. His death was a tragic<br />

one—an insane man stole into his room in the dead of night<br />

and cut his head off with a corn cutter. His son,<br />

748. Robert Allison,^ removed to Broad Ford, Smythe<br />

county, Va., where he lived in 1892. He married, in 1847,<br />

Anna Mary Reedy, daughter of Samuel and Susan Reedy,<br />

of Grayson county, Virginia. He purchased a farm of 300<br />

acres, and raised a family of eight sons and a daughter. Mr.<br />

Allison has held many public offices, and was collector of<br />

internal revenue for the second district of Virginia, in 1892.<br />

749. William Jefferson Allison/ b. Sept. 22, 1848; m., April 5, 1868, Jane<br />

Hill of Ashe Co., N. C. ; removed to Ohio in 1871; became a<br />

student of medicine; gi-aduated in 1876 from the school of<br />

physicians and surgeons in Cincinnati, and successfully practised<br />

his profession. Mrs. Allison died in 1881. Mr. Allison is a<br />

member of the " Churcli of Christ,
