ALLISONS FROM THE COUNTY OF LONDONDERRY, IRELAND.<br />

There landed in Philadelphia, Penn., about the first of<br />

July, 1750, three emigrants of Scotch blood and Presbyterian<br />

faith. They came from the County of Londonderry, Ireland.<br />

They were brothers, named Andrew Allison, Robert Allison,<br />

James Allison. From them have sprung many descendants,<br />

who are widely scattered, residing in Pennsylvania and many<br />

of the western states. They are mostly Presbyterians. As a<br />

family they have been healthy and long lived the earlier ; generations<br />

were mostly farmers. Many professional men were<br />

in the later generations.<br />

\ 510. Andrew Allison ^ settled in Lancaster county, Penn.<br />

511. Robert Allison ^ resided in Cumberland county,<br />

Penn., for some years; then removed to Indiana county where<br />

he passed the remainder of his days, and died in 1805. He<br />

married, in 1752, Rebecca Beard, who came in the same ship<br />

with him across "the deep blue sea." She was a granddaughter<br />

of one Charles Stewart (or Stuart), a soldier, who<br />

was wounded in the hand at the '' Battle of the Boyiie.''<br />

512. John B.Allison,''' grandson of Robert, died in 1878,
