Francis^). He was born in Jennerville, Chester county,<br />

Penn., May 16, 1843 ; married, Sept. 6, 1877, Sophia Dallas<br />

Dixon, who was born in Philadelphia, Penn., Dec. 28, 1853.<br />

She was the daughter of Fitz Eugene and Catherine Chew<br />

(Dallas) Dixon. Her father was born in Amsterdam, Sept.<br />

resided in Farley, Bucks county, Penn., and died in<br />

4, 1820 ;<br />

Philadelphia, Penn., Jan. 22, 1880. He was the son of<br />

Thomas Dixon, Jr., and his wife, Mary B. Dixon, who was<br />

born Jan. 26, 1781, in Westminster, London, Eng. ; resided<br />

in <strong>Boston</strong>, Mass , where he died Sept. 15, 1849. He was the<br />

son of Thomas Dickson (or Dixon), born Nov. 6, 1739, in<br />

Perthshire, <strong>Scotland</strong> ; resided in Amsterdam ; married Elizabeth<br />

Mann, and died in Amsterdam, Oct. 25, 1824.<br />

Mr. Alison graduated from the academic department of Har-<br />

vard University, Cambridge, Mass., in 1865 ;<br />

the bar of the city of Philadelphia, Penn., June 7, 1875, and<br />

practises his profession as a lawyer at 216 South 4th St., of<br />

that city ; resides at 327 South 18th St., Philadelphia, Penn.<br />

He was born in Jennerville, Chester county, Penn.,<br />

June 8, 1845. He graduated in arts at Yale College, New<br />

Haven, Conn., in 1867, and in medicine, from the University<br />

of Pennsylvania, in 1869. He is a physician. From May, 1871,<br />

to Oct., 1872, he was a resident physician of the Pennsylvania<br />

Hospital in Philadelphia. From Feb., 1883, to Nov.,<br />

1884, when he resigned, he was port physician of the port<br />

of Philadelphia. He removed to Ardmore, Montgomery<br />

county, Penn., Nov. 4, 1884; unmarried; resides at Ardmore,<br />

Penn.
