hotel manager, and now clerk in the Gault House in Chicago,<br />

where he has resided twenty years. He is a Republican, and<br />

an attendant of the Congregational church; single.<br />

Capt. Samuel,^ Samuel i). He was born, Sept. 17, 1816, in<br />

Dunbarton, N. H. ; married, Sept. 8, 1841, Mary Amelia,<br />

daughter of Dea. Philip and Lavinia (Currier) Brown, of<br />

Hopkinton, N. H., and granddaughter of Abram Brown.<br />

She was born in Hopkinton, N. H., April 19, 1820, and<br />

resides in 1892, in Concord, N. H. Mr. Allison was educated<br />

at the town schools in his native town and at the<br />

academy at Lyndon, Vt., and was a teacher in early life in<br />

Dunbarton and Hopkinton, N. H., Lyndon, Vt., and, in 1838,<br />

in South Carolina. In 1841 he engaged in the drug busi-<br />

ness, in which he continued until 1865, when ill health compelled<br />

him to it. relinquish He was tax collector from 1868<br />

to 1875, when he engaged in the insurance business for three<br />

years. He was a member of the South Congregational<br />

church for more than fifty years, and was a deacon for several<br />

years ; was superintendent of its Sunday-school from<br />

1859 to 1863 ; residence, Concord, N. H., where he died May<br />

15, 1887.<br />

Eliphalet and Sarah (McQueston) Richards, of Goffstown,<br />

N. H., where she was born July 13, 1820. She died in Bos-<br />

ton, Mass., April 22, 1852. Mr. Allison resided in <strong>Boston</strong>,<br />

Mass. He was connected with the firm of Claflin, Saville &<br />

Co. His business faculties were of a high order, and he
