at Beloit
synagogue
BELOIT — The
B’nai Abraham
Synagogue will host a
night of food and
entertainment Aug. 9
when the Centennial
Celebration Dinner
and a Movie Series
continues with “The
Mad Adventures of
Rabbi Jacob.”
Event organizers
selected Jewishthemed
movies and
menus to bring the
congregation together.
The series also is
designed to introduce
others to a Jewish
experience.
“The Mad
Adventures of Rabbi
Jacob” is a slapstick
comedy about an anti-
Semitic French businessman
who disguises
himself as a rabbi
to hide from terrorists.
The film delivers a
statement in favor of
tolerance and understanding.
It was nominated
for a Best
Foreign Film Golden
Globe Award in 1975.
The family dinner
and movie night,
which is open to the
public, will begin at
5:30 p.m. at the synagogue.
The dinner,
which includes the
movie, costs $5 for
adults and $3 for children
and students.
The menu includes
French Bread
Connection Cheese
Pizzas, and other
snacks.
Proceeds will go to
the Caritas charity.
Reservations must
be made by Aug. 5.
Send a check payable
to B’nai Abraham to
2400 Oxford Lane,
Beloit, WI 53511. Be
