Foreword for the IIT Undergraduate 1999-2001 Bulletin
Purpose of the IIT Undergraduate Bulletin
This bulletin describes the academic programs and resources,
policies, procedures, and student services in effect at the
time of publication. It is a primary source of information for
undergraduate students, the faculty and administration.
General information regarding the history of the university,
the setting of the campus, and campus life is also included.
These sections can be used by prospective students and others
to gain an understanding of the university as a whole.
It is the intention of Illinois Institute of Technology to act
in accordance with all regulations of the federal, state
and local governments with respect to providing equality
of opportunity in employment and in education, insofar
as those regulations may pertain to IIT. IIT prohibits and

The programs described in this bulletin are applicable to
those students who entered IIT in the academic years 1999-
2000 and 2000-2001. Students follow the programs described in
the bulletin in effect at the time of their first registration.
Changes in programs and policies often occur before a new
bulletin is published. A faculty adviser from the student’s
major department is the best source for current curriculum
information. The Undergraduate College can refer students
to the appropriate administrative office for current policies
and procedures.
