Foreword for the IIT Undergraduate 1999-2001 Bulletin<br />

Purpose <strong>of</strong> the IIT Undergraduate Bulletin<br />

This bulletin describes the academic programs and resources,<br />

policies, procedures, and student services in effect at the<br />

time <strong>of</strong> publication. It is a primary source <strong>of</strong> information for<br />

undergraduate students, the faculty and administration.<br />

General information regarding the history <strong>of</strong> the university,<br />

the setting <strong>of</strong> the campus, and campus life is also included.<br />

These sections can be used by prospective students and others<br />

to gain an understanding <strong>of</strong> the university as a whole.<br />

It is the intention <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Technology</strong> to act<br />

in accordance with all regulations <strong>of</strong> the federal, state<br />

and local governments with respect to providing equality<br />

<strong>of</strong> opportunity in employment and in education, ins<strong>of</strong>ar<br />

The programs described in this bulletin are applicable to<br />

those students who entered IIT in the academic years 1999-<br />

2000 and 2000-2001. Students follow the programs described in<br />

the bulletin in effect at the time <strong>of</strong> their first registration.<br />

Changes in programs and policies <strong>of</strong>ten occur before a new<br />

bulletin is published. A faculty adviser from the student’s<br />

major department is the best source for current curriculum<br />

information. The Undergraduate College can refer students<br />

to the appropriate administrative <strong>of</strong>fice for current policies<br />

and procedures.<br />
