Payments and Refunds<br />
Students must pay their balance due for each semester before<br />
classes begin. Any student who is delinquent in payment <strong>of</strong><br />
tuition or other fees, or against whom the university holds a<br />
record <strong>of</strong> indebtedness, is not given a diploma, a certificate <strong>of</strong><br />
scholastic standing, or a copy <strong>of</strong> his or her transcript until<br />
such indebtedness has been fully paid. While indebted to the<br />
university, students are not allowed to register or attend classes<br />
for an ensuing semester. The university may effect the withdrawal<br />
<strong>of</strong> any student who, through oversight, has been<br />
allowed to register contrary to this regulation.<br />
Institutional Refund Policy<br />
Withdrawal during the first week <strong>of</strong> classeseligible<br />
for 100 percent refund <strong>of</strong> tuition<br />
Withdrawal during the second week <strong>of</strong> classeseligible<br />
for 50 percent refund <strong>of</strong> tuition<br />
Refunds <strong>of</strong> Tuition<br />
No tuition will be charged and a full refund will be made on<br />
any amounts paid upon application supported by pro<strong>of</strong> as necessary,<br />
under the following circumstances:<br />
� if a course for which the student is registered is canceled<br />
by the university; or<br />
� if a student’s serious injury causes incapacity or a student’s<br />
death occurs.<br />

plans described in the IIT Bulletin: Schedule <strong>of</strong> Classes, credit<br />
card (Visa, Master Card or Discover), check, or money order.<br />
Payment may be made in person at the IIT Cashier’s Office<br />

Withdrawal during the third week <strong>of</strong> classeseligible<br />
for 25 percent refund <strong>of</strong> tuition<br />
Withdrawal after the third week <strong>of</strong> classes- no refund<br />
Under other exceptional circumstances, such as withdrawal<br />
for involuntary military service, serious illness, or action<br />
by the university, consideration may be given for a refund or<br />
credit for unused tuition upon written request to the bursar<br />
