A comprehensive study <strong>of</strong> the theory,<br />

principles, and procedures <strong>of</strong> ship navigation,<br />

means <strong>of</strong> shipboard navigation.<br />

Operations topics include communications,<br />

sonar-radar search and screening<br />

theory. Tactical formations and dispositions,<br />

relative motion, maneuvering<br />

board and tactical plots are analyzed<br />

for force effectiveness and unity Rules<br />

Evolution <strong>of</strong> Warfare<br />

A survey <strong>of</strong> all military history designed<br />

to provide the student with a basic<br />

knowledge <strong>of</strong> the art and concepts<br />

<strong>of</strong> warfare and its evolution from the<br />

beginning <strong>of</strong> recorded history to the<br />

present. Included within this study<br />

is a consideration <strong>of</strong> the influence that<br />

leadership, political, economic, sociological<br />

and technological factors have<br />

had on warfare and the influence they<br />

will continue to exert in the age <strong>of</strong><br />

limited warfare. Prerequisite: Consent<br />

This course is a comprehensive advancedlevel<br />

study <strong>of</strong> organizational behavior and<br />

<strong>of</strong> experiential exercises, case studies<br />

and laboratory discussions. Other<br />

evolution <strong>of</strong> amphibious warfare. An indepth<br />

survey <strong>of</strong> amphibious landings is<br />

concluded with a study <strong>of</strong> the development<br />

<strong>of</strong> modern amphibious doctrine.<br />

Emphasis is placed on case studies <strong>of</strong><br />

WW II: Pacific landing operations<br />

and Allied landings in North Africa,<br />
