Boss Audio Delivers Summer Sound
With Two New Amplifier Lines
Boss Audio Systems, one of the top five producers of power amplifiers in the
world, is readying retailers, competitors and consumers for a loud summer with two
new-for-2012 lines of stylish power amplifiers: Disrupt and Impact. All amplifiers in
both lines are currently shipping and are competitively priced from $149 to $349.
“The Boss Audio legacy is built on our ability to deliver the power at the heart of
an audio system,” said Doug Kern, executive director of sales and marketing at Boss
Audio Systems. “Customers who saw these amplifiers in January were very excited
at the power, size and design, and they have been highly requested since we began
shipping in March. With the addition of the Impact and Disrupt lines, we supply
retailers and distributors with more than 100 amplifier SKUs for automotive and
marine applications.”
The Impact series consists of five MOSFET-powered amplifiers designed to fit
any system build configuration. The line is anchored by the IMP2000M, a monoblock
power plant that delivers 2,000 watts maximum (Wmax) power (800 Wrms
at 4 Ω). Depending on the system design, pair it with the IMP1000.4 to power four
additional channels with 250 watts max per channel (100 Wrms at 4 Ω) or any of
three models of bridgeable two-channel amplifiers: IMP2000.2 (2,000 Wmax; 400
Wrms x 2 at 4 Ω), IMP1600.2 (1,600 Wmax; 350 Wrms x 2 at 4 Ω), or IMP1000.2
(1,000 Wmax; 200 Wrms x 2 at 4 Ω).
Featuring an efficient class D architecture, the Disrupt series consists of three
mono-block designs. The small but powerful DST2500D is rated at 2,500 W max
(1,500 W at 4 Ω). For more demanding but equally size limited applications, step up
to the DST3000D (3,000 Wmax; 2,100 Wrms at 4 Ω) or the flagship DST4000D
(4,000 W max; 2,300 Wrms at 4 Ω).
Both series of amplifiers employ a new look highlighted with understated black
metal housings and a monochromatic logo. Paired with the low-profile design, the
amplifiers create the ideal visual impact in a high-profile install or fit the tightest
spots in hideaway applications. Power and speaker connections are made on one
side for ease of installation, while high- and/or low-level inputs, crossover selectors
and audio level controls adorn the opposite side.
The Impact and Disrupt amplifiers also feature linking capability, LEDs to indicate
power and protection circuit activation and wired dash-mountable subwoofer level
controls. For more information on Boss Audio Systems, call 800-999-1236 or visit
