It’s a fact that in-car smartphone usage is a dangerous driving distraction and
manually adjusting phone settings before getting on the road is a time-consuming
hassle. Cobra recently released its one-of-a-kind Cobra JoyRide, a 12-volt smart
charging system for your car that automatically personalizes and reconfigures
Android smartphones upon entering or exiting your vehicle. The unit retails for
$39.95 at www.cobra.com and initiates phone events and configurable settings
automatically just by connecting the Android smartphone via micro-USB to the
Cobra JoyRide charger.
The free companion Android app communicates with the JoyRide Charger,
offering tons of flexibility for personalization. Pushing a single button on the
12-volt JoyRide smart charger can initiate phone calls, launch voice commands,
share information about road hazards and police, pause and play music and even
launch GPS navigation apps or other favorite in-car applications. The easy-to-use
interface also gives you control over power settings for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and
it can even save the GPS location of your parking spot and guide you to it later.
