OK, that’s 4 down. Heck, this is easy...
I’ll pick up the spare on my next lap!
See, is says right here... No matter how hot it
gets, you must wear your leather jacket all day.
For the onlooker/passenger like myself there was plenty of
entertainment. There was ample time to check out the phenomenal
cars up and down pit road. (Sebring’s mini-museum!) From 333’s to
Maserati birdcages and everything in between. When the touring group
came up, it was my opportunity to play the role of adrenaline junkie,
especially through the hairpin!
And don’t forget the go-karts! Racer’s Country Club gave me
the chance to show my expertise. Maybe I still can’t drive a stick or the
shifter karts, but I did get a chance to squeal my tires and even spin -
out once! I definitely felt that I maximized my time at the track.
I do want to mention a few highlights of my Sebring weekend.
First, it amazed me how many female drivers took to the track. For
example, Bonnie in her 308, and Monica in her beautiful blue Maserati.
They sure impressed me! Monica did want to stress the importance of
track insurance as she now has a beautiful black Maserati. Thanks
Brian for being a sport at Saturday night’s dinner even after trying to
restyle his bodywork. And of course there was Eddie Smith. He may
need assistance fastening his helmet, but once in the car he sure can
drive! What a ladies man too. How many women did he promise a
dance? I’m still waiting in line!
Saturday night brought more awesome food and entertainment.
Jeff entertained us all with his wit and charm, and for those of us who rallied,
we lined up for midnight Enzo rides thanks to Ray! Wow what a night!
Finally, Sunday morning brought recovery. One last concours
spread out over the Chateau Elan lawn, together with a breakfast buffet
wrapped up the fun-filled weekend. I can now say that I am truly
developing an appreciation for these fine cars and amazing group of
people. I can’t wait for next year!!
I don’t know why they
call it The Pits, it’s
actually quite cozy!
I’ll say it for the last
time... that coffee’s
gotta have a lid!
Florida Redline 5
While some would say that the action was on the
track, Paulie B and his Posse might beg to differ.
I know I promised you a ride. That’s not the point.
But my seat still isn’t dry from the last time!
