A Test on Wills... 1. I have a will. 2. At a recent Planned Giving Seminar sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago the presenter started with a pop-quiz. I flunked, but found it worthy of repeating here. I hope you pass with flying colors! — Br. Hugh My immediate survivors know where to find my estate planning documents. 3. My executor and alternate executor are still capable and qualified to serve. 4. My guardian and alternate guardian are still capable and qualified to serve. 5. My executor is knowledgeable in these matters and knows how to find the necessary information to settle my estate. 6. My attorney has offered to review my estate plan to ensure its compliance with the Economic Recovery Act of 1981 and all subsequent tax reform enactments. 7. My survivors’ financial needs have been reviewed and appropriate steps have been taken to meet them. 8. The financial benefits for any minor children named in my estate will be provided for in a trust. 9. My survivors have been briefed regarding key people they could consult with in decision making situations. 10. After my family needs have been met I have considered sharing my estate with charitable causes I believe in. Each “True” answer counts for 10 points.
