Application Story – Petrochemicals Manufacture in France Application: This major petrochemicals manufacturing site for polypropylene, polyethylene, styrene, polystyrene, butadiene, and aromatics introduced mass flow measurement to measure and record the input of highly viscous polybutadene styrene into the manufacturing process. This input was not previously measured. Process: Temperature: 30 ° C, Pressure: 8 bar, Density: 0.9 kg / l Viscosity: 7900 mPa.s Maximum flow rate: 13 T / H The OPTIMASS 7300 S80 was used with the converter installed in the control room directly connected to the digital process controller. With the MFC300 it is possible to have up to 300 meters between converter and sensor Benefits to the customer Improved process installation, and control of consumption of process materials. Less than 0.5 Bar pressure drop in spite of the additional equipment in the process line and the extreme viscosity of the process fluid. STRAIGHT TALK Why did the customer choose KROHNE?: A low pressure drop due to the single straight tube construction; quality advice on the setting up and installation of the sensor; assistance at the scheduled commissioning of the meter; and the bonus of an extended warranty for 2 additional years offered for the installation of this first device at this site. (Remember – you can always offer your customer a 3year guarantee in exchange for the process details with the extended warranty card which they receive with the meter or fill in on the KROHNE website.)
