Following the establishment of Biowerk Sohland in 2002, another company, PPM Energie Germany GmbH, was established to build biodiesel plants like the existing installation for national and international customers with capacity between 8,000 and 50,000 t/a, with larger plants envisaged. Plants equipped with Optimass are now in Australia and Austria and 3 are being built for Hungary. They have already provided 6 plants in Germany.
