At INDIA ITME 2008, held at
Bengaluru, between November 15
- 22, 2008, Clariant Chemicals (India)

At ITME, Clariant provided information
on following topics, in particular:
4E’s Intelligent Chemistry: Sustainability
and environmental issues are becoming
more and more important for
consumers, retailers, dyers, fi nishers
and producers of textiles along the
whole value chain. The compliance of
dyes and chemicals with all kinds of
various textile standards (like GOTS,
Oeko-tex and bluesign) is already a
must. Saving resources like water,
wastewater, energy, time or effi ciency
in general links ecology and economy.
Various processes and applications
were described, as to how by using
intelligent chemistry Clariant can bring
these 4 E’s – environment, effi ciency,
ecology and economy – together.
Even the textile consumer profi ts from
intelligent effect chemistry in home
laundering, saving natural resources
through less frequent washing or lower
washing temperatures.
4E’s Cost Calculation Tool: Clariant has
developed an electronic tool for cost
calculation, process standardization
with respect to process control, quality
control; with respect to ecological
elements in terms of input / output
calculation for BOD, COD and TDS.
This electronic tool provides cost
savings solutions to our customers, for
different textile processings.

A New Generation of Fluorocarbons:
Clariant has launched a range of
innovative products based on C6
chemistry that are classifi ed as PFOA
(Per Fluoro Octanoic Acid) free below
limit of detection and also offer the
same high performance as delivered by
C8 chemistry. Nuva ® N series with their
outstanding soil release properties were
also discussed at ITME.
