Rising pressure pipe, 20 inches diameter, 363 psi working pressure, 1,350 feet<br />

long with 4 - 45 o bends. Pipeline located on a 76% slope.<br />

Seamless woven aramid (Kevlar®) fiber in single or double-layer design<br />

embedded in a high per<strong>for</strong>mance plastic. The folded pipe is pulled into the<br />

existing pipe from a reel. No curing required. Pressure inflates the liner which is<br />

then self supporting. Inner liner coating is either PE <strong>for</strong> water and sewer<br />

applications, or TPU <strong>for</strong> oil and gas.<br />

• Light weight, 1.6 to 9.1 kg/m depending on diameter and number <strong>of</strong> layers<br />

<strong>of</strong> fabric.<br />

• High strength – burst pressure <strong>of</strong> 2,580 psi (178 bar) <strong>for</strong> 6 inches diameter.<br />

• Delivered rolled up to 5 miles on one drum.<br />

• Easy to install – up to 6,000 feet in a single line.<br />

• Could be used <strong>for</strong> a temporary pressure by-pass line.<br />

• Can navigate through a 30 o bend.<br />

• Requires a special coupling device (Primus Line connectors) <strong>for</strong> jointing up<br />

to steel, PE or other pipe materials <strong>for</strong> pressure rates higher than 16 bars.<br />

Alternative standard PE or GRP couplings are being tested.<br />

• Cannot accept connections so need special connectors (<strong>for</strong> high pressure) to<br />

adapt to fittings.<br />

The Primus Line is made <strong>of</strong> a low weight fibre woven hose. The hose is<br />

constructed <strong>of</strong> seamless interweaving <strong>of</strong> Kevlar fibre with an inner and outer<br />

coating. The inner coating is a thermoplastic which is smooth and resistant to<br />

many media. For water and sewer applications the inner coating is PE, <strong>for</strong> oil and<br />

gas applications the coating is TPU. The outer coating is wear-resistant PE.<br />

Kevlar fibre has a tensile strength <strong>of</strong> 2,920 N/mm 2 , or 8 times that <strong>of</strong> steel.<br />
