Funding provisions<br />

72 Costs and expenses <strong>of</strong> committee<br />

(1) The Crown must pay the members <strong>of</strong> the joint advisory committee<br />

nominated by the Director-General, the actual and reasonable<br />

costs and expenses incurred by members <strong>of</strong> the committee<br />

acting in their capacity as members.<br />

(2) The Crown must meet the proportion <strong>of</strong> the administrative<br />

costs and expenses <strong>of</strong> the joint advisory committee that<br />

(relates to the number <strong>of</strong>) equates to the proportion the members<br />

nominated by the Director-General bears to the total<br />

number <strong>of</strong> members <strong>of</strong> the committee.<br />

Change in ownership <strong>of</strong> retained sites<br />

73 Change in ownership <strong>of</strong> retained sites<br />

(1) The Crown may vest parts <strong>of</strong> the retained sites in 1 or more<br />

other claimants on terms that are similar to the vesting <strong>of</strong><br />

Whakapaukorero in the governance entity.<br />

(2) If any part <strong>of</strong> the retained sites is vested in other claimants<br />

under subsection (1), then, despite section 66, nominees <strong>of</strong> other<br />

claimants may be appointed to the joint advisory committee.<br />

Exercise <strong>of</strong> powers by Minister<br />

74 Minister must consult with committee before exercising<br />

powers in relation to certain matters<br />

The Minister must consult with the joint advisory committee<br />

if the Minister intends to exercise his or her powers to—<br />

(a) discharge the joint advisory committee; or<br />

(b) change the composition <strong>of</strong> the committee unless the<br />

change is in accordance with section 73(2).<br />

75 Section 9 <strong>of</strong> Reserves Act 1977 not to apply<br />

Section 9 <strong>of</strong> the Reserves Act 1977 does not apply to the<br />

exercise by the Minister <strong>of</strong> any power, function, discretion, or<br />

authority under this subpart.<br />
