Removal <strong>of</strong> resumptive memorials<br />

18 Removal <strong>of</strong> resumptive memorials<br />

(1) The chief executive <strong>of</strong> Land Information New Zealand must,<br />

as soon as reasonably practicable after the settlement date,<br />

issue to the Registrar-General a certificate that identifies each<br />

certificate <strong>of</strong> title or computer register that—<br />

(a) relates to a cultural redress property or a commercial<br />

redress property; and<br />

(b) contains a memorial entered under an enactment<br />

referred to in section 17(2).<br />

(2) Each certificate must state that it is issued under this section.<br />

(3) The Registrar-General must, as soon as reasonably practicable<br />

after receiving a certificate issued under subsection (1),—<br />

(a) register the certificate against each certificate <strong>of</strong> title or<br />

computer register identified in the certificate; and<br />

(b) cancel each memorial that, under an enactment referred<br />

to in section 17(2), is entered on a certificate <strong>of</strong> title or<br />

computer register identified in the certificate.<br />
