Interpretation<br />
11 Interpretation <strong>of</strong> Act generally<br />
It is the intention <strong>of</strong> Parliament that the provisions (<strong>of</strong>) in this<br />
Act are interpreted in a manner that best furthers the agreements<br />
expressed in the deed <strong>of</strong> settlement.<br />
12 Interpretation<br />
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,—<br />
antiquities protocol means a protocol issued under section 21<br />
by the Minister for Arts, Culture, and Heritage that—<br />
(a) sets out how the Ministry for Culture and Heritage will<br />
interact with the governance entity on the matters specified<br />
in the protocol; and<br />
(b) provides for (Ngāti <strong>Tuwharetoa</strong>’s) the input <strong>of</strong> Ngāti<br />
<strong>Tuwharetoa</strong> (<strong>Bay</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plenty</strong>) into the processes <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Ministry in relation to the matters specified in the protocol;<br />
and<br />
(c) is in the form set out in schedule 5.3 <strong>of</strong> the deed <strong>of</strong><br />
settlement<br />
antiquities protocol area means the area shown on the map<br />
attached to the antiquities protocol, together with the adjacent<br />
waters<br />
archaeological site has the meaning given by section 2 <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Historic Places Act 1993<br />
business day means the period <strong>of</strong> 9 am to 5 pm on any day <strong>of</strong><br />
the week other than—<br />
(a) Saturday, Sunday, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac<br />
Day, the Sovereign’s Birthday, Labour Day, and<br />
Waitangi Day; and<br />
(b) a day in the period commencing with 25 December in a<br />
year and ending with the close <strong>of</strong> 15 January in the<br />
following year; and<br />
(c) the days observed as the anniversaries <strong>of</strong> Wellington<br />
and Auckland<br />
