values relating to the Owhakatihi.<br />

6 Acknowledgements and apology<br />

Sections 7 to 10 record the acknowledgements and apology<br />

based (in) on these acknowledgements given by the Crown<br />

to Ngāti <strong>Tuwharetoa</strong> (<strong>Bay</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plenty</strong>) in the deed <strong>of</strong> settlement.<br />

7 Text <strong>of</strong> acknowledgements in Māori—Ngā<br />

Whakaaetanga na te Karauna<br />

The text <strong>of</strong> the acknowledgements in Māori as set out in the<br />

deed <strong>of</strong> settlement is as follows:<br />

(1) E whakaae ana te Karauna, mai ano i te wā o te raupatu kua<br />

rapū a Ngāti <strong>Tuwharetoa</strong> (<strong>Bay</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plenty</strong>) kia whakaaetia o<br />

ratou whakamau, a, kua roa rawa te wā e tariana tenei. Na<br />

reira e whakaae ana te Karauna ki te tika o ngā whakamau a<br />

Ngāti <strong>Tuwharetoa</strong> (<strong>Bay</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plenty</strong>) i roto i ngā tau, na reira e<br />

whai iho nei ko ana whakaaetanga.<br />

(2) E whakaae ana te Karauna:<br />

(a) na tana raupatu i ngā whenua o Ngāti <strong>Tuwharetoa</strong> (<strong>Bay</strong><br />

whai wāhi hoki ki te noho wehe me te marara o te iwi; a<br />
