Dear Palisades Community,
Happy New Year!!! With the start of this
new year, Palisades Recreation Center is offering
new Senior Citizen classes for the Winter 2013
quarter. They are Bingo on Tuesday mornings,
Bridge on Monday mornings and a Pot Luck
Social every Thursday afternoon. Please refer to
page #9 for more details.
Something we are bringing back in regards
to Spring Youth sports is Coed Basketball. Traditionally,
we have only offered a Girls basketball
league in the Spring. However, with all the
renewed interest in B’ball we have decided to give
the coed league a try again.
Mark your calendars! The Spring Egg
Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, 3/30/13 from 10
AM to 2 PM. There will be carnival games,
bouncers, music, food and of course egg hunts.
Additionally, the Easter Bunny just confirmed he
will be in attendance again this year!
We need your help! In order for us to
continue to offer well organized, balanced youth
sport leagues, we need everyone to register ON
TIME. Please be aware of all registration dates
and submit your registration along with payment

Registration Information
Sports Registration Information
1. Sports have very specific registration dates. If you submit the registration after the closing date you
maybe placed on a waiting list.
2. All participants, age 8 years old and up, must attend mandatory evaluations—the dates and times are
located on both the sports pages in this brochure as well as on your receipt.
3. Our coaches, not the recreation office, will contact the parent in regards to the teams and practice times.
4. NO REFUNDS will be approved on or after the first day of league play.
5. Requests are a courtesy only and are NOT GUARANTEED.
6. There will be ABSOUTELY NO switching/trading of players once the division has been drafted.
7. A Birth Certificate or US Passport must be on file at the Recreation Center office. If one is not on file you
will be directed to provide the office with a copy prior to the league start date for which you are enrolling.
Class Registration Information
1. All participants must complete a Winter 2013 class registration form and pay the full amount.
2. Classes which do not meet the minimum requirement on the first day will be canceled.
3. Late registration is accepted and the fee will be prorated after 1/22/13 .
4. Participants must have reached the minimum age by the first day of class; proof of age may be required.
5. Make ups will only be issued if the instructor misses a class. Patrons who miss a class will not be issued a
refund, credit or make-up.
6. Please register early, we can only accommodate a set amount in each class and it may fill before registration
ends.
7. Receipts will be automatically emailed to you. If you do not have an email address it will be handed to
you at time of registration. Please keep a copy of your receipt for your records.
Refund / Transfer Policy
1. NO Full Refunds will be issued unless a class or sports league is cancelled by the center.
2. A 15% fee will be assessed by the recreation center for any patron granted a change or transfer per class
or sports league registration.
3. All sports patron requested refunds will be subject to a $35 processing fee.
4. All class patron requested refunds will be subject to a $25 processing fee.
5. All refund requests must be submitted to Palisades Recreation Center on a Refund Request Form.
6. Refund Request Forms are available in the office.
Payment by Check, Money Order, Visa / MasterCard Only.
A Collection Fee Will be charged for each check returned by the Bank.

A few reminders regarding Palisades Youth Sports Programs
� All registered participants must attend league evaluations for each sport registered.
� All teams are formed by a draft system
� No player is allowed to play out of their specific age division.
� Once teams are drafted, there are NO SWITCHING of teams and/or players for any reason.
� There will be NO refunds approved on or after the first day of league play.

� Palisades RC has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy regarding poor sportsmanship by coaches,

T– Ball
PRC POLICY REGARDING PLAYING OUT OF AGE DIVISION – Spring 2013 T-Ball
1) Division is based on age at League Start Date (spring t-ball is 4/12/13 )
2) If birth date is within 2 weeks after League Start Date (spring t-ball 4/12/13 ) - it is the
parents choice of whether to play up.
3) If birth date is within 6 months after League Start Date (spring t-ball 9/13/13) -
parent can bring the child to a skills evaluation which will be held every Thursday at 4 PM on the
upper field area. The child will only be allowed one skills evaluation test per season. Keith Rice,
Recreation Coordinator, must give approval in order for child to play up and his decision is final.
4) If birth date falls after 6 months of League Start Date (spring t-ball 9/14/13 and on) child will not be
allowed to play up or attend a skills evaluations.
Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport is required at time of registration.
REQUESTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

Field/Facility/Picnic Permit Policies
General Policies
� All permit applications must be submitted in person during center operating
hours.
� All permit applications must be submitted in advance of requested date.
Please refer to specific rental area below for minimum submission timeline.
� Permit applications for all large events, Special Events, Fundraisers, etc
must be submitted a minimum sixty (60) business days in advance of requested
date(s).
� All permit fee balances must be paid one week prior to the date of your
event.
� We only accept checks and money orders made payable to City of LA.
� Palisades Recreation Centers programs /activities have precedence over
all permit applications.
� For information only, call Palisades RC at (310) 454-1412 Monday through
Friday from 9:30am-8:30pm.
� There is a $25 transfer fee assessed on all permit application if you request
a date change.
Athletic Fields
� Fields are available for rental from Palisades RC on weekdays from 9:00am
-6:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am-5:00pm based on availability.
� All field permit applications must be submitted fourteen (14) business days
in advance of requested date.
� Rental requests after 6 PM Monday—Friday and on Sundays, must go
through the Municipal Sports Division.
� All private coaching lessons /clinics/organized sport practice groups
and /or games must be on permit. No Exceptions.
� There is a $40 staff processing fee assessed on all field permit applications.
Gym
� Both gyms are available for rental Monday— Friday, 9 am to 9 pm and on
Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm based on availability.
� All gym permit applications must be submitted fourteen (14) business days
in advance of requested date.
� All private coaching lessons /clinics/organized sport practice groups
and /or games must be on permit. No Exceptions.
� There is a $40 staff processing fee assessed on all gym permit applications.
Picnic Reservations
� There are two picnic areas that may be reserved for groups of up to 200
people from 9:00am-5:00pm. Monday through Saturday.
� All picnic permit applications must be submitted fourteen (14) business
days in advance of requested date
� Moon bounces are allowed in both picnic areas, however , the lower picnic
area has a size restriction.
� No vehicles are allowed to drive down into the lower picnic area. All supplies,
including moon bounces must be hand carried down to the area.
� There is a $20 staff processing fee assessed on all picnic permit applications.

health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such activity. I agree to relieve the City of L. A. Dept. of Rec & Parks, its officers,
agents and employees from any liability in connection with any injury to my child in connection with this league. I understand the Recreation
Facility CARRIES NO INSURANCE. I do authorize Palisades Rec Center as an agent for my child listed above to consent to X-ray examination,
anesthetic, medical or surgical diagnosis or treatment and hospital care which is deemed advisable by, and is rendered under the general
or specialized supervision of any physician licensed under the provisions of the Medical Practice Act on the staff of a licensed hospital,
whether such diagnosis or treatment is rendered at the office of said physician or a said hospital. It is understood that this authorization is given
in advance of any such diagnosis, treatment or hospital care which the aforementioned physician in the exercise of the judgment may deem
advisable. The authorization shall remain effective for the duration of the program, unless revoked sooner in writing and delivered to said
agent. First-time registrants, Birth Certificates or passports are required. I also understand there is NO switching of teams once the

I hereby pledge to live up my responsibilities as a parent of a child/player participating in the Dept. of Rec & Parks Sports Program by following
the parent/guardian/player’s code of conduct. As a parent/guardian I will place the emotional and physical well-being of the child above
any personal desire to win. As a player I will play by the rules and never argue or complain about the official’s decisions. As a parent/guardian
I will help my child understand the valuable lessons sports can teach. I will be a role model of good sportsmanship and character. As a parent/
guardian I will help my child meet his/her responsibilities to the coach and the team. As a player I will play for the fun of it and do my best to
make sure that the game is fun for all participants. I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all participants. I will
treat participants, coaches, recreation administrators and the public, with respect. I will help maintain a sports environment for all participants
that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports events. I will make only positive and encouraging
comment to players on both teams. As a parent/guardian I will not interfere or coach from the stands. I will be a good sport by cooperating
with my coaches, teammates, opponents and officials. As a player I will remember that the goals of the game are to have fun, improve skills
and feel good about playing. I will not take the game or myself too seriously, I will control my temper. I will strive to create a positive recreational
experience for everyone involved in the activity. I will remember that I am youth sports parent/guardian, and that the game is for children
and not adults. Accordingly, I will encourage my child to play sports by providing a supportive atmosphere, but not pressure. I will discuss
the significance of this code of conduct with my family members. I understand that the penalties for not adhering to this Code of Conduct
may range from a verbal warning to expulsion from the activity.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. PALISADES RC IS NOT A OFF LEASH DOG PARK! (LAMC 63.55)
2. Dog defecation must be removed immediately by owner (LAMC #C 53.49).
3. Center activities have first priority in the use of all facilities, fields and picnic areas.
4. No alcoholic beverages are allowed anywhere in the park (LAMC 63.41.27C)
5. Vehicles are prohibited except in the driveway and parking lot. Parking in red zones,
fire lanes and undesignated parking places is prohibited.
6. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades are prohibited in play areas. (LAMC
63.44B, 7)
7. No climbing on trees for your children’s safety.
8. Children must be supervised at all times.
9. Structures including stages & personal barbecues are prohibited at Palisades RC.
10. No person shall rent or offer for rent, sell, or offer for sale any commercial merchandise
or any item of any kind, or practice, carry on, conduct or solicit any trade, occupation
or business profession or park property. This includes non-permitted private coaching
lessons, clinics and personal trainers.
11. Palisades RC does not make reservations on major holidays.
