The designer: Robin Platt, born 1962,<br />
studied at the London College of Furniture.<br />
He is one of the most outstanding representatives<br />
of new British design. His clients include<br />
Grupo T, Cidue, Sawaya & Moroni and Driade.<br />
He has already designed the »table-wear«,<br />
»yono« and »spirit« ranges for Rosenthal,<br />
and in the year of Rosenthal’s 125th anniversary,<br />
the new collection »free spirit«.<br />
i n n o v at i o n h a s a f o r m :<br />
Not for nothing is this new collection called »free spirit«. For it is based<br />
on the spirit dish with its characteristic two-wing design that has already<br />
fired the imagination of many chefs all over the world to produce novel and<br />
unusual creations. The dynamic of the wave-like contour has been captured<br />
in the entire »free spirit« collection; controlled and terse, yet without<br />
losing any of the fire and energy of the original dish.<br />
All elements were then combined: essence of form, elegant, delicate plates in their<br />
severe geometric shape, one-armed »spirit« dishes that can be grouped or stand as<br />
solitary pieces plus matching glass dishes, which may be placed, for example, inside the<br />
deep plates, thus creating a delightful contrast of material with the white porcelain.<br />
