We have never been accustomed to
hiring people to do a job we feel we can do
ourselves. This includes moving a heatseal
machine down the street to our newest location
on 89th Avenue. WE maintain all our equipment,
machines and structures inhouse.

Dad was a very social man that enjoyed the company of his
peers. He enjoyed hosting upholstery installation and Auto Trim
Association dinners in order to share his knowledge and create a mutual
bond within the industry. He spent many years perpetuating his talent
and experience with his employees; always with the idea in mind of
maintaining quality and craftsmanship. Two of those employees were
his sons Rick & Skip. His boys learned from the bottom up and were
taught that being the boss’ son did not represent privilege; it meant that
they had to work harder than anyone else to prove themselves to other
employees. Skip and Rick have done a great job of maintaining Dads
ideals and complimenting them with their own.

After almost two decades of working as
Dads apprentices Rick (L) & Skip (R) decided to
continue, what had become a family tradition.
They took over ownership of Electron Top in 1987.
Dad later remarked, “The best compliment I have
ever received was from a customer who had been
dealing with Electron Top for many years.” He
recalled, the customer saying “Fred nothing
changed when you left.”
Since the third generation of ownership, Rick & Skip
have been a catalyst for many changes. Electron Top has
experienced great growth both in a loyal following of customers
and a workforce that averages 13 years of employment. They
mesh old world craftsmanship with new age technology by
bringing in computerized cutting, hot air sealing, digitizing and
also photo-capturing of patterns, and in 1994 the
manufacturing of glass rear windows.
