Our Reputation is Tops - Electron Top

Whilst Grandpa was busy with Richmond Hill
Auto Top, our Nanny stayed at home taking care
of all the important things that a house required
to be called a home. She was very supportive
of her husband; our grandfather, and did a great
job of raising their three children in a very loving
environment. She was also an incredible baker.

Grandpa Yudt (L) & his brother Ferdinand (R) (WE
called him Vati Onkel, meaning Daddy Uncle in
English), custom trimming a new convertible top. They
both had a great reputation for quality craftsmanship
and a kind demeanor (Above).
Our Mom recalls, when she was younger;
about 10, she would ride her bicycle to
Grandpa's shop to bring him Nanny's
homemade lunch. It was a 4 mile ride and she
rode it quite often...
ok, so this isn't Mom at age 10; nor is it the
bike she was riding, but it's the only picture
we had of Mom on a bike (Below).
Grandpa had a new building erected in 1948
capable of handling the expansion of
Richmond Hill Auto Top. He had 12 trimmers
working for him, two of which were his
brother Ferdinand and son-in-law, our Dad,
Fred. Later Moms brother Henry went to work
for Grandpa and ran Richmond Hill Auto Top up
until his retirement in 2001. Our Dad, Fred (L),
