The 1987-95 Chrysler LeBaron frame has a fl aw which can cause a tear in the top between the heatsealed<br />
seam and the bound edge. Th<strong>is</strong> <strong>is</strong> a result of the gap between the end of the bow and side rails (Fig. 1),<br />
increasing from 3/4” to 1 3/4” (Fig. 2) as the top <strong>is</strong> being folded. During the folding operation the channel<br />
fl aps work against the bow, the result may be a tear in the top.<br />

In addition, when the top <strong>is</strong> being folded, the linkage behind the quarter windows rubs against the<br />
underside of the pads (Fig. 3), creating a hole in the pads (Fig. 4) which may continue into the top.<br />
We manufacture replacement top pads which have a piece of seamark sewn to the pad which aids in<br />
preserving the top.
