p.m. on Saturday, <strong>June</strong> 2.<br />
“The general public can<br />
stroll through there and look<br />
at all the cars, and the owners<br />
are there to answer any<br />
questions about their vehicles,”<br />
said Adele Nelson, the<br />
secretary <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Alabaster</strong><br />
Arts Council.<br />
In years past, there have<br />
been high-end sports cars,<br />
antique pickup trucks, and<br />
beautiful custom paint jobs.<br />

car enthusiasts,<br />
the<br />
<strong>City</strong>Fest<br />
Cruise-In<br />
Car Show<br />
is a great<br />
opportu-<br />
And the owners are always<br />
eager to show <strong>of</strong>f their<br />
prized vehicles.<br />
“They may have details<br />
about their vehicles posted<br />
on there, describing what<br />
year it is. Sometimes they’ll<br />
have pictures <strong>of</strong> the vehicle<br />
before they refurbished it,”<br />
said Nelson.<br />
For those that might<br />
want to display a classic<br />
vehicle, there is no charge to<br />
register.<br />
“It’s for people who have<br />
an interest in classic cars,<br />
anything that they’ve<br />
redone or rebuilt and want<br />
to come out and present it.<br />

The first 25 entries registered<br />
will receive a free<br />
dashboard plaque.<br />
Registration for the event is<br />
onsite, but forms are also<br />
available at the <strong>City</strong>Fest<br />
website (www.alabastercityfest.com).<br />
Participants can<br />
print the form <strong>of</strong>f and bring<br />
it with them to the event.<br />
Participants are also eligible<br />
for door prizes throughout<br />
the event.<br />
“We have prizes every<br />
hour,” said Nelson.<br />
Members <strong>of</strong> the public<br />
have the opportunity to<br />
select the People’s Choice<br />
Award. This will be the<br />
third year that the event has<br />
included the award.<br />
Members <strong>of</strong> the public will<br />
vote on which car they like<br />
best, and at the end <strong>of</strong> the<br />
event, the votes are counted<br />
to see which car received<br />
the most votes. After that, a<br />
name is drawn from among<br />
the ones that voted for the<br />
winning vehicle to determine<br />
a winner from the general<br />
public.<br />
“The person that got the<br />
most votes wins a prize, and<br />
the people that voted on it<br />
have an opportunity to win<br />
a prize,” said Nelson.<br />
Because <strong>of</strong> the car show’s<br />
proximity to the Day Stage,<br />
people visiting the car show<br />
will also be able to enjoy<br />
some <strong>of</strong> the great tunes<br />
throughout the day.<br />
