Applications<br />
SurgeGuard surge arresters cover the protection of home appliances (TV,<br />
HiFi, VCR, laundry-machine, dishwasher, ...), commercial building<br />
equipment (computer and data communication network, intrusion and fire<br />
alarm system, access-control and building automation system), industrial<br />
equipment (PLC, instrumentation, medical apparatus, monitoring devices)<br />
and even the protection of entire off-shore drilling platforms.<br />
Features<br />
Single and multi-pole devices (for TNC and IT respectively TNS and TT<br />
energy supplier networks); class 1 high energy deviation (10/350) and<br />
class 2 medium energy deviation (3/20) devices available; high current<br />
combined with low protection voltage; plug-in and monoblock devices<br />
both with and without voltage free signalling contact.<br />
In addition, all MOV-based devices have a built-in thermal fuse, to isolate<br />
the device from the rest of the installation in case of short-circuit or thermal<br />
runaway.<br />
A special low energy surge-suppression device (Sine Wave Tracking) is<br />
also part of this range of devices.<br />
