The inauguration and commissioning of the new Bonfiglioli Italia plant in
Carpiano, in the province of Milan, our new logistics centre for the rapid
dispatch of industrial products to our Italian customer base and the centre
of our domestic sales operations, marks the first step.
Bonfiglioli Italia is a customer service centre which integrates the latest,
leading-edge processes required to provide the best solutions at competitive
prices in the shortest possible time.
This is largely due to the Fast Automatic Warehouse (FAW), which handles
a large stock of gearboxes, motors, frequency converters and mechanical
parts, drive control and automation components.

The Bonfiglioli Italia plant in Carpiano is our Technical, Logistics, Sales and
Customer Service Centre which integrates the following:
• Drive Service Centre:
- Technical pre- and after-sales services located in Carpiano, Turin, Bologna
and Padua, offering international operational capabilities through Bonfiglioli’s
13 subsidiaries around the world.
- Customised product and solution design both through customisation of the
vast range of Bonfiglioli products and as part of a co-design and coengineering
initiative with our customers’ technical departments.
• Dedicated logistics:
- Logistics consultant team for planning supply and demand in order to tailor
delivery times to customers’ specific requirements, at the same time ensuring
lower supply chain costs and cash outlay.
- Dedicated customer stock option with collaborative stock management,
from initial stocking to rolling forecasts.
• Internet support service:
technical and logistics support service.
- The Logistics Call Centre is divided into geographical areas and is fully
integrated with our Italian Customer Service Centre. It serves to assist
customers throughout the post sales process, from placing an order to final
delivery.
- Technical help desk: provides our customers’ engineers the technical support
required for correct use of Bonfiglioli products.
- Mosaico:
The innovative Bonfiglioli web portal uses Mosaico Engineering to configure
products online and to generate 2D and 3D product drawings in real time.
The portal also lets customers place orders online and monitor their progress.

to provide a full range of services to our customers.

B.T.F. was set up in 1977 in Survilliers, a small town, 30 km north
of Paris. Here Bonfiglioli products quickly gained market approval where they
have enjoyed consistent growth ever since. In just 15 years, the company’s
workforce has grown from 20 to approximately 60 employees. For a small
company, as B. T. F. was in the early days, this is an extraordinary achievement,
especially considering the discriminating nature of the French market, where
international enterprises expect a great deal from their partners who must be
reliable, professional and capable of diversifying to meet their specific needs.
The company’s operations today extend over an area of 12,000 sq. m., of
which 900 sq. m. are offices and 4,000 sq. m. warehouses.
An impressive client portfolio of market leaders covering a range of industries
continues to grow in numbers: earth moving machinery, lift trucks, all-terrain
cranes, construction site cranes, elevated platforms, agricultural machinery,
bakery ovens, bread-making production plants, dock loaders/unloaders, waste
disposal systems, water purification plants and car washing equipment. Those
markets where we have had most success are industrial applications, particularly
fixed installations, and the mobile equipment, agricultural and marine sectors.
Turnover has increased 40% over the last 3 years, a dramatic increase, largely

service and tireless dedication to satisfy every possible market requirement.

As in an art gallery, we scan the images and information that
make up the Bonfiglioli world, and today we take time to pause and reflect
on a growing business that represents one of our most important achievements.
That company is Bonfiglioli Deutschland in Dormagen, founded in 1990, which
coordinates 17 engineering/sales offices all over Germany. Our presence in
Germany, the driving force of Europe’s mechanical engineering industry, is a
matter of great pride to us and a measure of the quality and reliability of our
products. In this the homeland of total quality, we must compete with the
best in our field every day to win the trust of our customers. Our ongoing
quest for perfection is reaping excellent results, as confirmed by the continuing
growth of our market share. Located in Dormagen, our German headquarters
employs 60 people. Here an assembly unit guarantees the prompt delivery
of products made to specific application requirements. The German headquarter
is completely independent of our Italian operations. All components are first
stored in the warehouse from where a highly skilled workforce is able to
select, prepare and deliver the reduction unit requested by a customer in less
than 24 hours. We have also sought to improve communications with our
customers and can hence respond to any request in the shortest lead time
possible. We are proud to say that the reduction units manufactured at the
Dormagen plant really are "Made in Germany", which represents a major
quality credential compared to our competitors who are not of “German
origin". It is through the professionalism of our personnel who daily prove
their dedication and attention to quality, that our efforts have been rewarded.

Bonfiglioli has considered the British market crucial to its international
growth since the early 1970’s. Starting out in the early days with a local
distributor, the company now operates from extensively stocked offices at
Warrington in the North of England and Redditch in the Midlands. Bonfiglioli
UK has systematically grown over the years, consolidating its presence to
become a point of reference in the British power control and transmission
market. With a combined workforce of 30, the company works in close
collaboration with many blue chip clients and household names. The Warrington
office concentrates primarily in providing mobile equipment power solutions
whilst Redditch concentrates its efforts on industrial automation and process
solutions. Both have specialist teams dedicated to providing targeted solutions
to their highly discerning customer base. A customer-focussed service and an
ability to offer innovative solutions and applications to meet clients’ specific
needs are key ingredients to Bonfiglioli’s success throughout its international
operations. This is particularly true in the UK where the know-how to adapt
these strengths to satisfy local markets has been long established. The UK
market has shown particular interest in helical inline gearmotors, along with
the new ACTIVE series inverters. Recent market trends indicate increased
interest in planetary gears for which Bonfiglioli are able to offer higher levels

For the last 14 years, Bonfiglioli Hellas SA is a leading company in
the section of power and control solution. Through all these years we managed
to offer to our customers products and services of high quality, and to build
strong relationships with them. Bonfiglioli’s reduction gear units are in fact

Our tour of Bonfiglioli branches around the world now takes us
to Sweden, where an extremely dynamic unit has been operating since 1991
at Lomma, near Malmö, providing a strategic link between the parent company
and Scandinavia: Denmark, Norway and Finland. With 20 employees, the
Lomma branch offers the local market those same values, philosophy of service
and customer care which are synonymous with the Bonfiglioli brand. The office
is responsible for a range of activities and has its own marketing, sales network
organisation and management, sales, after-sales, spare parts and delivery
management logistics departments. Bonfiglioli Skandinavien is to be the first
of our European branches to be directly responsible for the production of new
products. In order to promptly meet demand, the new gearmotors are sent
to the Scandinavian headquarters partially assembled. Final assembly takes
place locally using machinery, control systems and procedures identical to
those used in Italy. This means shortening lead times in response to the most
diverse customer requirements, thus guaranteeing a service whose strength
is precisely its speed of response. Bonfiglioli Skandinavien has already won
the approval of clients operating in a range of sectors including food production,
earth moving machinery, water treatment and purification systems, drilling
equipment and dock handling applications. Expansion of the Lomma branch
into a production unit, reflects the parent company’s recognition of its
increasingly important role in the Group’s overall operating strategy.

Our trip around the world now takes us to Spain. Here, cultural
forces are interwoven with a strong desire to embrace the future. As Picasso
said, “There is nothing that has no goal, no result to conquer, no enigma to
decipher, no mystery to penetrate, no interest”. This phrase possibly encapsulates
the artist’s soul as he gazed beyond the Pillars of Hercules and identified in
his own internal struggle the reason for his existence. In Spain, BONFIGLIOLI
has found fertile ground for its operations, thanks to a spirit of cooperation
which permeates the entire organisation. It was some thirty years ago that
BONFIGLIOLI first began in this country, culminating in the establishment of
TECNOTRANS BONFIGLIOLI. Today, this factory employs a staff of 80 and
enjoys an annual turnover of 65,000 gear units on the domestic market, a
figure which is on the increase. The plant is located in Barcelona, a fascinating
city, full of history, where our highly qualified staff, including eight product
engineers, assist our customers in adapting our gear units to meet a wide
range of applications, from the food and construction industries to airport
and clothing industries. Of the 7000 sq. m. occupied by the plant, a large
warehouse caters to a wide variety of needs, helping to shorten delivery times
to customers and underlining the importance of customer service to our
company’s growth. A number of companies, all leaders in their field, have

Bonfiglioli recently inaugurated the Bonfiglioli Turkiye branch with
headquarters located in Izmir.
Thanks to the Turkish government’s policies over recent years – aimed at
stabilising the currency and promoting economic growth – Turkey has one of
the highest GDP and industrial production growth rates in the world.
With a population of 70 million of whom the average age is 27, Turkey
represents a compelling prospect for labour and future market expansion. The
country’s manufacturing industry growth is driven by the construction, cement,
steel, household appliance, automotive, food & beverage and textile industries.
Furthermore, Turkey’s geographical location makes it a strategic meeting point

Bonfiglioli’s decision to establish its first operational plant in Turkey was driven
by this highly promising scenario. The Turkish headquarters are located in Izmir,
on a 5000 sq. m., site of which 2000 sq. m. are buildings. The historic city

as well as a highly qualified labour market.
With the aim of offering Turkish customers both our technical know-how and
the fastest possible time-to-market, this unit has focused right from the start

In its role as a Solution Provider, the branch’s DSC provides our Turkish clients
with extensive technical support, both in the fields of mechanical and electronic

Territorial Coverage:
The Izmir headquarters are supported by sales offices located in the main
Turkish industrial hubs of Istanbul, Ankara and Kayceri, thus guaranteeing full
coverage over the vast Turkish territory with its numerous industrial districts.
Assembly and Logistics:
To guarantee the immediate availability of our product range, our Turkish
facility is equipped with the machinery, plants and trained staff needed to

T he great American continent, such a major world economy, was
bound to be an important target for the expansion of Bonfiglioli Riduttori
and indeed, in 1990 the company established Bonfiglioli North America Inc.
in Canada. The company’s first offices were located in Richmond Hill, Ontario,
with a workforce of four. The strategic importance of the North American
market, its enormous potential, and the immediate success achieved by the
company, small though it was at the time, led in 1995 to the decision to
move to new and larger premises in Concord, better suited to handling the
increase in business. Our growth can be summed up in just two simple facts:
an increase in turnover of 66% and expansion of the workforce to the present
number of 22 and expanded to 3200 square meters in November, 2004. The
choice of location was based on a number of strategic considerations; primarily
the high level of industrialisation in the Ontario region, home to 40% of
Canada’s manufacturing industry within a radius of 200 km.
The internal organisation of the branch includes sales, customer service,
administration, marketing and PR functions, but it is the local assembly of
the new C and A series products that embodies the company’s enormous
flexibility which translates into improved customer service and new opportunities
for expansion into new markets. Bonfiglioli Canada’s prestige customers
merely testify to the professionalism and commitment of our Canadian branch.
Our strategy for the future focuses on penetrating those sectors in which
Bonfiglioli has made a name for itself, and which represent the commercial
challenge for the near future: applications for the food and paper industries,
water treatment and purification, and manufacturers of cranes and earth

Bonfiglioli Riduttori, leader in the power transmission business for
50 years, with more than 2,000 employees in 14 countries and revenues of
$500 million in 2005, has decided to build a new headquarters, to be completed
by February 2007. It will be constructed on a 10 acre parcel, located in Hebron,
Kentucky, where the Group has been operating for 3 years.
The new facility will be near the Cincinnati International Airport, one of the
most important hubs in the United States, offering 680 daily departures to
140 destinations worldwide.
Bonfiglioli USA Inc. currently has 36 employees, with plans to expand its
workforce in the near.
The new building will cover 83,000 Sq. Ft., with 13,000 Sq. Ft. being offices
and the balance for manufacturing, and warehousing.
The assembly area will be divided in four departments: small and large sized
planetary gearboxes, helical gearboxes and worm gearboxes.
Bonfiglioli has been delivering technical and logistical support, as well as
service to key players such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Genie, Ingersoll Rand,
JLG, CNH and many others prestigious companies for many years.
Bonfiglioli USA represents an important investment for the Bonfiglioli Group
and plays a key role in its global expansion strategy, thanks to the huge
business opportunities offered by the US market.
With the new facility growth will be strengthened, through the improvement
of service to the customers and the significant investment in the latest
technology.

The new Bonfiglioli branch, BONFIGLIOLI DRIVES SHANGHAI CO.
LTD. was inaugurated in Shanghai, China in 2004. The plant, which extends
over a surface area of approx. 3000 sq. m. offers the entire range of Bonfiglioli
products, and is supported by a comprehensive range of pre- and post-sales
services, to guarantee reliable, top quality products and short lead times in
line with our main competitors on the Chinese market. The aim is to replicate
the successful strategy adopted by the Group around the world, with local
assembly facilities for a selection of gearmotors. All parts are imported from
Italy to ensure that the Chinese market enjoys the same high quality standards
that is Bonfiglioli’s hallmark around the world.
The new facility’s location responds to the need to be close to the major
communication channels and local infrastructures required by a complex and
evolved manufacturing process. This is why the new branch has been sited
in the Shanghai Qingpu industrial district which, at 40 km from the city’s
historic centre, covers an area of 56.2 km2 and is home to four major
industries: High-Tech, Textiles, Clothing and Biomedical. Shanghai's two
airports and the port district are also nearby, as well as two major motorways
linking those provinces whose industrial potential is rapidly developing, partly
as a source for raw materials supplies. The Chinese market offers extraordinary
opportunities for Bonfiglioli, both in its key market segments, estimated at
about 2.3 billion dollars, and within the mechanical engineering industry as
a whole, valued at around 231 billion dollars, with an annual growth rate of
24%. Within this framework, our company can play a major role, backed by
our lengthy international heritage. China represents a major opportunity for

From the survey commissioned by Bonfiglioli sometime ago to
identify the best location for a Production Plant in the Far East, India
emerged as the clear winner for a number of reasons. The liberalised Indian
economy is stable and has been growing fast - from 7% in 2000 to 10%
in 2006. It has a sound economic fabric, professional ethics and is strategically
located in the centre of South East Asia. India has substantial domestic
consumption of most of the manufactured goods. Politically, India plays a
leading role and is a driving force in the South Asia Association for Regional
Co-operation (SAARC) whose priority amongst others is to set-up a free
Trade Zone.
From a socio-economic view point, the Indian middle class currently numbers
350 to 400 Million. Moreover purchasing power of this section of the
population have been significantly and rapidly growing. Another key

investment by the Bonfiglioli Group.
Construction of the Production Plant began in 1999, in a highly developing
Industrial area near the Chennai Airport, served by two Sea Ports and an
important Industrial basin for supply of vital raw materials. Bonfiglioli
Transmissions (P) Ltd., Chennai, India, has recently expanded, doubling its
covered space to over 16,000 sq. m. The Plant now employs a work force
of over 250 which is set to increase to 300 (+) in the near future, in order
to meet the growing requirements of the Production Unit for AS, TA, 300
and 700 series Reduction Gear Units, Electric Motors and RAN series Bevel
Helical Gear Units, in addition to the advanced Logistics, Sales and Marketing
Network and an Assembly Unit for VF, W, A, C, S and F series Reduction Units.
The Plant is certified for quality systems by TUV with EN ISO-9000-Vision
2000.
Consistent growth in the Indian domestic market has made Bonfiglioli India,
the Country’s leading player, making it essential to expand our existing
operations.
In just a matter of six years, our decision taken very timely to set up a
Production Unit in India has proven visionary, both in terms of enormous
potential of India’s growing economy and its strategic position. All these
have made Bonfiglioli India a premier player not only in the Middle and Far
East, but also throughout the South-East Asia region, which is also experiencing
an economic boom.

At Bonfiglioli Riduttori a key strategy has been the establishment
of an international distribution network that can support Bonfiglioli products
across the globe. Furthermore where we recognise potential for growth our
view is to participate directly in these markets in order to capitalise on these
opportunities in the long term. The South Africa market is a case in point.
Although Bonfiglioli products have been distributed in South Africa since
1975, it was in 1991, recognising the potential of this market that Bonfiglioli
made the decision to establish its own operation. This commitment to the
local market has led to rapid growth and placed the Company in its position
as a leading supplier in this field.
In 1995 pursuant to the Group’s globalisation program of improving quality
& reducing lead times, a further significant investment was made into the
establishment of a computerised local assembly and test facility. This has
been complimented by a sophisticated and highly efficient logistics capability,
which has ensured that the local operation can meet the diverse demand
from the market. Obviously the human factor has been key to the Company’s
success. Under founder member Robert Rohman the now 60 strong team
remains totally focused on serving their market thereby ensuring that the
Group’s growth strategies are met.
The Company’s headquarter is situated in Sandton Johannesburg and is in
process of being expanded from the current 3000 sq. m. to a 4000 sq. m.
undercover facility. In addition to this, the operation is supported by branches

Bonfiglioli Transmission Australia has been operating since 1988,
and moved operations from Brisbane to a new location in Sydney in 1997.
From this period onwards with the implementation of a direct sales force,
the business has grown dramatically, and now enjoys a large assembly and
technical service facility in Sydney, a branch in Melbourne, (which also houses
the technical service centre for Bonfiglioli electronic inverter products), plus
sales offices in Perth and Brisbane.
The local market, which includes New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, is
estimated at AUD $150 million, and covers mainly traditional applications in
mining and process industries, bulk materials handling and food processing.
The company’s market share is around 12% and growing following the
launch of a range of products designed to meet customers’ needs in this
rapidly expanding economy (GDP for the first four months of 2004 was
+5.5%).
Because of the high growth of the Bonfiglioli business in Australia, in 2005
a new Head Office and assembly facility was built in Glendenning, Western
Sydney to support the business, and further improve customer service levels.
The new facility is within easy access to the new M7 orbital motorway
transport infrastructure in Western Sydney. The premises occupies a total of
3000 square metres with special high level racking incorporated in the
warehouse area allowing additional inventory to be carried.
The site purchased has a total area of 10,000 sq. metres, and in the future,
stage 2 of the design will allow an eventual factory size of 5000 square
metres. The new Australian Head Office facility is already providing our valued
Australian customers with a first class service from the new assembly and
warehousing operation. Our goal is now to surpass the previous outstanding
sales results achieved by our local state branches with our thirty plus workforce.
Turnover in 2006 is expected to be in the region of AUD $18 million, with
strong growth coming not only from our Australian operation, but also from
our New Zealand branch where our products are now being assembled locally
in Auckland. This facility is also allowing us to provide a first class service to
our New Zealand customers. – yet further proof of our ability to leverage
synergies between our branches around the world.
