The carousel is mounted outside the derrick and is hydraulically positioned under the rotary head for drill pipe loading. A standard drill pipe storage rack, with a capacity of four pieces of 11.4 cm O.D. x 7.6 m long drill pipe, is mounted on the side of the derrick. HYdRAULiC iNdExiNG A 7.6 cm bore x 12.1 cm stroke hydraulic cylinder can be installed for automatically indexing the 11.4 cm drill pipe carousel.
