HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING
In metropolitan France, the hydraulic
engineering market is made up
primarily of small contracts which
generate stable, repeat business.
In the French West Indies and in the Indian
Ocean major environmental capital
investments have boosted the market for
construction of water treatment and
purification plants.
In Benelux, despite a slump in the hydraulic
engineering sector, the market for industrial
pipelines with high technical value added
has held up.
In Africa water supply and irrigation works
remain a source of buoyant business.
In all of these sectors Sogea retained a special
position throughout 1999 and it remains
one of the main players on the market.
Profile
Historically, hydraulic engineering is the business line
in which Sogea has very strong roots and the sector
accounts for a quarter of the company’s overall
activity and represents a major asset for it. The
company covers all specialties related to hydraulic
engineering: design and management of drinking
water supply networks and treatment of rainwater
and waste water; supply, laying, renovation and
maintenance of pipeline networks for all fluids in all
sizes and in all materials, with and without inspection
facilities; design and construction of drinking water
plants and purification plants; construction of
pumping stations, overpressure stations, seawater
desalination plants; horizontal drilling and guided
drilling; pipe-jacking and laying of pipeline systems
by means of microtunnelling equipment.
The particularly fine-meshed network of local
agencies which make up Sogea makes it possible for
the company to respond to all contracting authorities
within very short intervention and completion times
which are guaranteed thanks to the Sogea teams’
excellent familiarity with the terrain.
