A further dimension is added to the meaning in this stanza. Before he<br />

died, a dedicated poet should leave an indelible imprint on the face <strong>of</strong><br />

humanity. Like a missionary, he should preach love and freedom. His<br />

poetry should be the 'daily' bread for those who hunger for peace, love<br />

and emancipation.<br />

This stanza is pregnant with figurative devices; similes,<br />

metaphors, antithesis, and assonance, which augment the emotive impact<br />

<strong>of</strong> the poem. Poetic creativity is as intense, imperishable, and<br />

universal as digging holes into the earth's crust. The poet's poems,<br />

in which he has poured out his feelings and emotions, are assimilised<br />

to a full-grown apple, as red as his uninvincible heart, upon which<br />

"children in slum alleys fall a-nibbling"; or "loaves to satisfy those<br />

who hunger for bread and freedom". There is no regular rhyme scheme,<br />

but the third line rhymes with the fifth, seventh, and the last.<br />

To sum up, this poem begins with an obligatory meaning inferred<br />

from the word 'mamndia‘.-, which designates an 'inhibition'. The<br />

irrepressible tension created by such an inhibition is relaxed towards<br />

the end <strong>of</strong> the first stanza. The sub-obligatory meanings suggested by<br />

'la-tashhacii' and 'tarria saki', which occur at the beginning <strong>of</strong> the<br />

second and third stanzas, are dependent on and complementary to the<br />

skeletal meaning in the first stanza. No redundancy could be<br />
