- RSBCIHI (2011 – Present): Assist Riverside-San Bernardino County<br />

Indian Health, Inc. to identify at-risk communities by using spatial<br />

analysis to determine the penetration and distribution of existing<br />

programs.<br />

- HCD (2011 – Present): Using census data and data provided by<br />

local, state, and non-governmental agencies, provided spatial analysis<br />

on a project to investigate statewide analysis of impediments to fair<br />

housing. (Funded by the California Department of Housing and<br />

Community Development)<br />

- EPIC/TASC (2011 – Present): Designed and built an online tool<br />

(website) to help transit agencies understand riders’ experience at<br />

transit stops and stations. The information would be used to develop<br />

priorities in stop/station upgrades. Transit agencies collect data from<br />

their riders at their transit stops/stations and conduct a transit station<br />

inventory. The data is uploaded and analyzed on-the-fly. Results are<br />

viewable online or exported to an Excel spreadsheet for further<br />

analysis.<br />

- Zen in the Art of Travel Behavior (2010 – 2011): Designed and built a<br />

website that consisted of a photo gallery and travel journal entries with<br />

linkages to route maps which highlighted a research project that<br />

examined people’s perceptions of public transit in Los Angeles and<br />

how those perceptions influenced their travel behavior.

� Integrated Virtual Earth (Bing) map and Google map feeds into<br />

projects.<br />

� Setup rss/xml feeds so that others could consume in-house data<br />

� Responsible for setting up and maintaining Center’s enterprise servers<br />

and workstations and ensured that all software licenses were up-todate.<br />

� Maintained Center’s spatial and relational databases<br />

� Major Projects<br />

- TSIS (2009 – 2010): Created a website for individuals to identify<br />

unsafe areas on routes to transit stations. As part of this project, an<br />

online survey was developed and is to be taken by transit safety<br />

officials to document safety issues at the station itself.<br />

- CALOTS (2006 – present): Developed 6-county web application for<br />

SCAG to look at planning at the region down to the parcel level.<br />

(Funded by SCAG)<br />

- SNAP (2008 – 2009): Co-developer of a web application for the<br />

County of Los Angeles to facilitate the planning and implementation of


disaster response by first-responder agencies to Specific Needs<br />

persons living in the County. (Funded by Los Angeles County Office<br />

of Emergency Management/Department of Homeland Security).<br />

- Smart Growth Inventory (2009): This project is a comprehensive<br />

"Smart Growth Inventory" of the areas surrounding the City of Los<br />

Angeles' existing and planned 46 rail stations. Created a module<br />

which linked Google Streetview Images and Microsoft/Bing Aerial and<br />

Bird’s Eye imagery to each parcel in a quarter-mile area around each<br />

station. (Funded by SCAG/City of Los Angeles)<br />

- Neighborhood Planning Module (2008): Developed a web-GIS<br />

planning tool to increase community participation in the planning<br />

process and share local knowledge. In collaboration with MTA and<br />

LANI, ran 3-part workshop in 4 communities to teach community<br />

stakeholders (high school/college students, the business community,<br />

and neighborhood council members) about the neighborhood planning<br />

process and to collect local data (both textual and multimedia) and<br />

document them online using the web system. The community<br />

members were invited to present their data at the final meeting at MTA<br />

headquarters.<br />

- LILA (2007-2008): Converted mapping portion of website to use<br />

Microsoft Virtual Earth API in order to improve map usability and utilize<br />

updated aerial/bird’s eye imagery from Microsoft. LILA was a<br />

consumer-directed and regionally focused online project to benefit<br />

people with disabilities living in Los Angeles County<br />

- LA County Urban Infill Project (2007 – 2008) : Developed an online<br />

module to estimate the infill potential of industrially-designated land in<br />

unincorporated LA County for the County of Los Angeles and SCAG.<br />

Prepared/formatted final report to the County and SCAG.<br />
