Welcome to ACHA!
“As the president of ACHA it is my honor to extend the warmest welcome. I joined ACHA in 1996,
which has since become my professional “home.” College health is unique in taking a multidisciplinary
approach to the advocacy and promotion of the health of college students: physical and
mental health, relationship health, and overall personal, social, academic and spiritual well-being.
We work to increase access to quality care as well as create and support campus environments that
are conducive to health, safety and academic success. No matter what discipline you work within,
membership within your section and regional affi liate will link you to colleagues who will help you
succeed. I encourage you to join a topic-focused coalition, which will engage you in the development
of best practices, strategies, guidelines and standards in the fi eld. My best advice is simply to get involved in any capacity,
large or small. Volunteers are the “life blood” of the Association, and I can say from my own experience that service to
ACHA has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my career. ” —Jennifer “Jenny” Haubenreiser, MA, FACHA,
