Relief, geomorphology, present state <strong>of</strong> the complex<br />

system <strong>of</strong> soil properties, agricultural farming practices<br />

and land use are contributing to accelerated soil erosion<br />

with all its negative impacts on the environment.<br />

A significant part <strong>of</strong> the river basin area is suitable for<br />

the accumulation <strong>of</strong> water and serves as a protection<br />

zone <strong>of</strong> drinking water reservoir. The general issue is<br />

highly fragmented land ownership but concentrated<br />

management (large farms). There is a dynamic process<br />

<strong>of</strong> land consolidation.<br />

2. Material and methods<br />

The case study includes an agri-environmental approach.<br />

The analytical framework provides a foundation<br />

for defining research and refers to the development<br />
