Some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>coins</strong> <strong>of</strong> Pyrrhus were struck in Italy <strong>and</strong><br />

Sicily, <strong>and</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs in Epirus. A comparison <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> head<br />

on this tetradrachm with that on <strong>the</strong> coin <strong>of</strong> Locri,<br />

V. C. 23, combined with <strong>the</strong> fact that <strong>the</strong>se <strong>coins</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Pyrrhus are commonly found in <strong>the</strong> neighbourhood <strong>of</strong><br />

Locri, is strong evidence in favour <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir having been<br />

struck <strong>the</strong>re.<br />

<strong>and</strong> Sicily he passed six years, returning <strong>to</strong> Epirus in B.C.<br />

solely <strong>of</strong> copper.<br />
