Although these coins do not bear the name of Hicetas, there can be no doubt that they were struck under his rule. They are pieces of fifteen litrae. 35. Africa. Carthage. A/". Obv. Head of Persephone. Eev. Horse, standing on dotted line, supported at either end by two small symbols, a goat's head and an eye. Wt. 145*2 grs. 36. Carthage. ^. Obv. Head of Herakles, as on coins of Alexander the Great. Eev. Horse's head and palm-tree ; beneath, in Punic characters, am machanat, " people of the camp." Wt. 257 grs. This coin is subsequent to the time of Alexander ; the two following are apparently somewhat earlier. They are all undoubtedly by Greek artists. 37. Carthage. -5i. Obv.
