This Labienus, <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> Caesar's general, allied himself<br />

with <strong>the</strong> Parthians, B.C. 40, <strong>and</strong> led <strong>the</strong>m against his<br />

countrymen in<strong>to</strong> Syria. He adopted <strong>the</strong> title Parthicus,<br />

<strong>and</strong> struck money on <strong>the</strong> occasion <strong>of</strong> this expedition.<br />
