Can there be a better matchup Tor Super Bowl XIX
than the San Francisco 49crs and the Miami Dolphins?
Since mid-season, football fans all across the country
have been talking about a 49cr-Dolphin Super Bowl.
Both teams are powerhouses in the league and posted
the two best records in the NF1..
Both the 49ers and the Dolphins won their respective
divisions easily and were the fi.-st two teams to clinch
playoff berths.
The Super Bowl will have the two best quarterbacks
in the league, Joe Montana and Dan Marino, playing.
The 49ers have a diversified offense that can beat an
opposing team on the ground or hrough the air. The
Dolphins, on the other hand, have an explosive air attack
that can score at any time. Eloih teams have extremely
strong defenses as demonstrated throughout
the playoffs.
There is no clear favorite in this closely matched
Super Bowl. Both coaches are masters of the game of
football, and both teams are well prepared for the
game. It will mist likely be a game decided by which
team makes the fewest mistakes. The only advantage in
the game can RU V J *.- 49crs because they are playing
in their home i< >u and have won eleven straight
games.
This Super Bowl should be a truly super gumc.
Now that we have outlined what we think will be major
factors in Super Bowl XIX, here arc the predictions
of some Lowell students and faculty (we will give our
predictions at the end of the column):
Junior Chris Crisera believes that Super Bowl XIX
will be B "Rock "em-Sock 'cm" football game with
heavy hitting end plenty of offense and defense. 49crs

Senior Kevin Allen thinks the Dolphins will win
(predicted sccic of 33-30), saying, "My heart's with
the Niners, but mrj money's in the rigiit place."
"I think the 49ers wil! beat ihe Dolphins 26-13."
said sophomore Bumey Navas, adding, "but
remember, I'm not The Greek!"
Senior Nick Fiorcntinos. assured of his accuracy in
projecting the Niners 31-21 winners, commented, "I'll
\» right because J am The Greek."
After giving her prediction-(S.F. 24. Miami 21),
freshman Bonnie Garcia meekly added, "Marino's
gonna elic!"
Senior John Tuiasosopo (a cousin of 4°ers defensive
lineman Manu Tuiasosopo) confidently predicted a San
Francisco win by the score of 27-20 after giving a fiveminute
preview of the game.
Security aide Ron Hodges, on the other hand, exclaimed
that be "wasn't crazy" and rested his opinion
in a 35-20 Dolphin win.
Arid would a list of predictions be complete without
the educated guess of Dr. Alas Fibish. Lowell's principal?
