Division of Missions
Rev. James E. Quisquirin
National Executive Minister (NEM), Division of Missions
Our Need for Missionary Leaders:
A Message from Bishop Reniel Joel A. Nebab
First of all, I want to
commend the Division
of Missions, under the
leadership of our
national executive
minister Rev. James
Quisquirin, for its
groundbreaking efforts
in reaching peoples in
various fields with the
gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Its efforts in
reaching our brothers
and neighbours not
only outside of the
Philippines, but also in
difficult areas in our
c o u n t r y , a r e
characterized by a vision
to see multitudes of
people from every tribe,
tongue and nation
come to the saving
knowledge of the Lord
Jesus. It is my hope that
Our God whom we
serve who commissions
us to bless all nations in
His name is indeed the
same yesterday, today
and forever. He is
s o v e r e i g n o v e r
everything. He provides
all our needs. He has
blessed us continually
so that we can continue
to be a blessing to
others especially in
bringing the Gospel to
the least- reached
people groups of the
world. We appreciate so
the efforts of this
division will be
sustained and carried
on until the return of
Christ.
And in so doing, I have
a brief advice to them:
Even among our
missionaries, we need to
develop key leaders who
will take on the mantle
of servanthood and
commitment so that we
do not stop in the
middle of the battle and
are found wanting by
God.
The development of key
leaders in missions is
crucial because leaders,
not programs, carry the
torch, light up the path,
a n d s t a r t
groundbreaking and
Blessed to be a Blessing:
A Message from NEM-DM Rev. James E. Quisquirin
much your continuous
support through your
prayers, finances and
mobilization towards
world missions. As a
m i s s i o n a r y
denomination, may we
be more passionate
especially in mobilizing
churches in missions
involvement thus
attributing more glory
to God. We hope that
the approval of the
CAMACOP National
Board of Trustees
(NBOT) that the last
Sunday of each month
be designated as
path finding endeavours
that will produce clear
a n d s u s t a i n a b l e
highways that will result
into decades, even
centuries, of fruitful
work in our mission
fields.
We need missionary
leaders who have a
passion f o r the
unreached, perseverance
in difficulty, and
character to be firm
when challenges come
their way.
I say passion,
because these leaders
must set aside as nonnecessities
other human
desires, e.g. pleasure,
that are not aligned with
their primary conviction
The Thailand Call
Rev. Joel, Milcah
Gerada & Ms. Fely
Jane Narciso (IW in
Thailand): Despite
Thailand’s economic
boom, many are still in
spiritual darkness. The
Geradas together with
Fely Jane are seeing
answers to their
prayers to reach those
lost in darkness. New
Thai contacts have
responded to Christ in
faith and are growing
through attendance in
a Bible Study.
The desire to learn
English in Thailand is
in demand and so the
ministry team are
teaching this using
Bible stories and
lessons. Little by little
the Word of God is
penetrating deep into
the lives of the Thai
students.
Cecilia and Maricel
(Cambodia) is praising
God for the victories of
last year. They also
thank all of you for
your prayers and
Late last year, they were
Ptra. Beth Limare
(IW in Thailand) has
recently returned to
Thailand after 1-year of
Home Assignment and
is back to her full-time
teaching post at
Seminary (NBS). This
year is Ptra. Beth’s
28th year of ministry
in Thailand, 18 years
doing Administrative
work with NBS.
Ptra. Beth thanks God
for the fruit and more
fruit coming out of
consistent, patient and
hard work of many
workers in this field.
Their work at NBS
continues to grow. The
number of students is
increasing. The NBS
alumni are serving in
numerous places in
Thailand and Laos.
transitioned and
made ready the place.
After a long break, the
YDC reopened with
the students back for
study. It’s hard to
believe that the
Center is one year
now. Their ministry
takes them to areas
where God leads
them. And they now
have a ministry
breakthrough among
the Rugby boys.
In addition to the
challenges they faced,
last August, two staff
members underwent
surgery and two
discontinued their
work due to financial
coping and learning to be very
creative with clothing to keep
partner organization, helped make
the family’s adjustment a lot
easier. They are in the process of
learning the language, connecting
Our Need for Missionary Leaders (from page 1)
that men and women are
perishing and need to receive
the Lord Jesus Christ in a
personal manner. Otherwise,
these people will spend their
eternity away from God’s
presence. A true missionary
leader can not feel
comfortable and can not
sleep well with this spiritual
truth in mind.
I say perseverance, because we
do recognize that many
hurdles lie on our way of
spreading the Gospel. We are
aware that many forces are
battling for the soul of
everyone. Satan is not happy
when people groups come to
know the Lord Jesus, and so
he uses many instruments in
attempting to foil our efforts.
But we need men and women
of perseverance, because they
consider these hurdles
challenges instead, instances
of trusting our God, and
opportunities for designing
strategies that make us win!
Tourist visas in Nepal
are only good for 150
days, i.e., 5 months.
The Sarenas acquired
an internet café
business for the
purpose of changing
their visa status from
tourist to business.
Business visas are good
for 6 months and is
1/5 the cost of tourist
visas. Let us pray that
they will be able to
complete the payment
for the business.
And I say character, because
leaders can not be without
character. It is one ingredient
in our lives that we need to
take care of. Without
integrity of heart, a Christian
cannot lead. He has no moral
authority to press forward.
I say this with the prayer and
humility to recognize that the
Lord alone sustains us in our
ministry. I also say this with
the prayer that those who are
in the field will be
strengthened by the Holy
Spirit to distance themselves
from temptations that may
lead to their ruin and
downfall. The Kingdom of
Heaven has been forcefully
advancing (John 11: 12) and
we must build on what our
forefathers have done to grow
God’s kingdom on earth.
May our division of missions
continue to expand our
territories. May we find and
nurture missionary leaders
Ptr. James Sarenas immersed
require a C-section delivery. Pray that
Ana and the baby will stay safe and
Victor is translating the book of
Isaiah and is on the 28th chapter
now. With your prayers and the help
of the LORD, he has gotten this far.
He also worked with one of the guys
on the book of Exodus and have
gone as far as chapter 8. They thank
the Lord for His provisions in answer
to our prayers.
Kairos is Now !
The Kairos Course is the main
missions awareness, mobilization and
basic training vehicle of the Missions
Office. It is a 5-day, 9-session
interactive course that goes back
to the f oun da tion o f
missions, the Bible.
Through videos, readings,
d i s c u s s i o n s , l e c t u r e s ,
worksheets, personal journaling,
and prayer, the course
underscores that we are all
senders, mobilizers, welcomers,
intercessors or goers in relation to
world evangelization.
We praise God for the 18 Kairos
Courses held and 8 Facilitators
Training Courses (FTC) conducted
last year. Six—hundred seventy four
Kairos Course-West Mindanao District in
Ankla, Zamboanga Del Norte
participants finished the Kairos
Course, and 295 for the FTC. Praise
God for their encouraging response
on how Kairos has blessed them and
even transformed their missions
perspective.
Victory in the Land of
the Rising Sun
Ptr. & Mrs. Rolando Del Rosario
(Tentmaker IW in Japan): It is not
easy working far from your own land.
Challenges and difficulties can hinder
if not stop the work altogether. The
Del Rosarios thank God for the
victories they are experiencing over
the challenges of ministry. Ptr.
Rolando is ministering to a
congregation with a few nationals
from Japan but most worshippers are
from the Philippines. He and his wife
is thankful for the prayerful support
of the CAMACOP constituency.
We thank God also for the 24
pastors and laymen who finished the
Head Facilitators Training Course
(HFTC) on October and November
of last year. We have now a total 27
HF and one Course Coordinator,
(RHG) seminar.
These are some
comments from those
who attended at the
Metro Manila District
Kairos last year:
“I feel that am just an
ordinary believer but
after attending Kairos,
my life is transformed by an
extra-ordinary vision —of that of
being a world Christian.” —Ptra
Phoebe Nuestro
“Revolutionary. Soul-stirring.
Powerful!” —Rev. Noel Manguhig
“This course is excellent for outgoing
missionaries. It is helpful for all
CAMACOP churches.” —Rev. Dan
their leadership development
program through seminars, and
most of all, being there to listen to
them.
Let us therefore continue to
work hard to live up to our Godgiven
name, the Christian and
Missionary Alliance Churches of
the Philippines, for the glory of
God, globally.
