COLONEL MICHAEL A. ADDISON, JR.<br />

Colonel "Mickey" Addison is the commander of the 10th<br />

Mission Support Group, U.S. <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> <strong>Academy</strong>, Colorado. He<br />

commands more than 1,900 military, civilian and contract<br />

personnel who conduct all base-level support activities, including<br />

law enforcement and force protection, civil engineering,<br />

communications, logistics, military and civilian personnel, and<br />

morale, welfare and recreation for a military community of more<br />

than 25,000 people. He is responsible for a base infrastructure<br />

valued at $3.5-billion that serves more than 14,000 military and<br />

civilian personnel. He also directs the Emergency Operations<br />

Center during contingency operations.<br />

Colonel Addison entered the <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> in 1987 after graduating<br />

from Texas A&M University. He has served at every level of<br />

command: squadron, group, major command, <strong>Air</strong> Staff, and DoD,<br />

and has commanded three engineer squadrons. Colonel Addison<br />

has also served as deputy commander at the group level twice. In<br />

his career as an engineer officer, he was a squadron operations<br />

officer, readiness & training officer, contract management chief, and programmer. Colonel Addison’s<br />

previous staff experience includes headquarters tours at the combatant command, the <strong>Air</strong> Staff,<br />

Headquarters Pacific <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong>s, and a career broadening tour an instructor at the <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Force</strong> Officer<br />

Training School. From 2002 to 2003, Colonel Addison commanded the 332d Expeditionary Civil<br />

Engineer Squadron, Ahmed Al Jaber <strong>Air</strong> Base, Kuwait, during the conclusion of Operation Southern<br />

Watch and the lodgement and decisive combat phases of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was a<br />

distinguished graduate at Industrial College of the Armed <strong>Force</strong>s in 2009.<br />

Colonel Addison is married to the former Betsy Dunks of College Station, Texas. They have two<br />

children, Luke and Haley.<br />
