Doing it for the kids
GOLDEN KANGAROOS READY
While the rides are sure to be
fun and the animals (except the
crocodiles) will be cuddly, it will be
the music that truly sets the tone
for the upcoming Bushland Shire
Festival.
Lazy Town Zumba Fiesta Show
is certain to get the crowd moving
and Danni Da Ross from the
Voice will no doubt have some
younger people screaming, but the
group to really watch out for will
be a local marching band led by a
golden kangaroo. The Epping RSL

As the Bushland Shire Festival
approaches, parents have one
question: q what’s going to be
there th for the often difficult-toentertain
e children?
The T answer is, heaps!
So S much, in fact, it’s almost difficult to
know kn where to start.
You Y could begin with the mobile laser
skirmish, sk which takes the guesswork out
of gunplay because you know exactly
when w you’ve tagged who you’re chasing.
Then T there’s the V8 simulator, which
allows a them to experience what it’s
like lik inside a professionally-driven car
screaming sc around a racetrack, while they
can ca also test their climbing skills on the
rock ro wall.
If those seem weighted towards the boys
don’t do worry because girls certainly don’t
miss m out, with pony rides on offer as well

especially excited about playing

“Our members get a lot of pleasure
out of the local gigs because it’s
their friends and family they’re
playing in front of.
“We often have kids come up to
conduct for us and we love getting
everybody involved.”

the crocodile encounters, where the kids

far more cuddly creatures.
And all of that is just scratching the
surface, with Circus Avalon performers
roaming the grounds as well creating
a dazzling aerial display, two trackless
trains, a vintage fire truck on display, mini
jeeps and much more.
Putting the final seal on a great day out
will be the ever-popular face painting
booth, which will let them proudly show
off where they’ve been right up until bath
time that night.
The Bushland Shire Festival will be held on Sunday
16 September from 10am-4pm at Fagan Park on
Arcadia Road, Galston.
