here kamma-bhava, consequential existence) are
pufi&a, apuAiia, Jnejia (merit, demerit and immovability)
Vbh i37 = Nd' 471. — (c) karma as causeconsequence
: its manifestation consists in essential
likeness between deed and result, cause and efiect : like
for like " as the cause, so the result." Karma in this
special sense is Retribution or Retaliation ; a law, the
working of which cannot be escaped (cp. Dh 127, as
