(3) 2070-3B Front Panel.<br />

Ensure that the warranty period begins on the date <strong>of</strong> shipment to the project.<br />

Ensure that each unit has a permanent label or stamp indicating the date <strong>of</strong><br />

shipment.<br />

A. Type TS 2/A1. Furnish a controller unit that meets NEMA TS-2<br />

specifications <strong>and</strong> is shelf or rack mounted. Ensure that controller settings are<br />

programmable through a keyboard on the front panel. Ensure that the front panel<br />

contains an 8-line by 40-character display.<br />

Furnish materials according to the <strong>Department</strong>’s Qualified Products List (QPL).<br />

B. Type TS-2/A2. Furnish a controller unit that meets NEMA TS-2<br />

specifications <strong>and</strong> is suitable for shelf mounting. Furnish a controller unit that<br />

includes all ports <strong>and</strong> input/output connectors for complete interchangeability<br />

between NEMA TS-1 <strong>and</strong> TS-2 cabinets. Ensure that controller settings are<br />

programmable through a keyboard on the front panel. Ensure that the front panel<br />

contains an eight-line by 40-character display.<br />

Furnish materials according to the <strong>Department</strong>’s Qualified Products List (QPL).<br />

C. Type 170E. Furnish a controller unit that meets the specifications for<br />

“Transportation Electrical Equipment <strong>Specifications</strong>”, California <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Transportation, including all addenda. Furnish a controller unit that is listed on the<br />

CalTrans QPL <strong>and</strong> has:<br />

1. Vertically mount all circuit boards. If ribbon cables are used, ensure<br />

that they terminate with properly rated <strong>and</strong> easily repairable connectors on each<br />

end. Ensure that ribbon cables do not terminate onto plug-in modules.<br />

2. Furnish a power supply that is modular <strong>and</strong> easily removable from the<br />

chassis.<br />

3. Furnish a unit that contains separate input <strong>and</strong> output modules.<br />

4. Furnish a controller unit that includes a Model 412C Program Module<br />

with the memory configuration for the s<strong>of</strong>tware either shown on the plans or as<br />

provided by the maintaining agency.<br />

5. Socket mount all memory, microprocessor <strong>and</strong> ACIA devices. Furnish<br />

sockets that have machined beryllium copper contacts with gold plating.<br />

Furnish materials according to the <strong>Department</strong>’s Qualified Products List<br />

(QPL)<br />

D. Types 2070L, 2070LC. Furnish controller units that meet the specifications<br />

for “Transportation Electrical Equipment <strong>Specifications</strong>”, California <strong>Department</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> Transportation, including all addenda. Furnish a controller unit that is listed on<br />

the CalTrans QPL.<br />

The Type 2070L version controller unit consists <strong>of</strong> the following assembled<br />

modules:<br />
