The Show IP Protocol Command<br />

The show ip protocol command shows you the routing protocols that are<br />

configured on your router. Notice in the following output that both RIP and<br />

IGRP are running on the router, but only IGRP appears in the routing table<br />

because of its lower administrative distance.<br />

The show ip protocols command also displays the timers used in the<br />

routing protocol. Notice in the output below that RIP is sending updates<br />

every 30 seconds, which is the default. Notice further down that RIP is routing<br />

for network 172.16.0.0, and the two neighbors it found are 172.16.40.2<br />

and 172.16.20.1.<br />
