HEARING
PROPOSAL:
By mutual agreement according to the collective bargaining agreement, the Desert Community College District
Faculty Association and the District agree to reopen the following sections of the collective bargaining agreement:
A. Article XV (Appendix B): Faculty Service Areas
B. Article XIV (Appendix C: Evaluations)
C. Appendix C and H, Selection of Peer Evaluators
D. Article IX: Health and Welfare Benefits
E. Article VIII: Compensation
F. Article XI: Hours of Service
G. Appendix H, Tenure Review Process
H. Article XXI: Distance Learning, Section 7 (e) Class Size
I. Appendix B regarding dates of advancement
BACKGROUND:
Currently the Board of Trustees and the Faculty Association (CCA/CTA) have an agreement pursuant to
Government Code Section 3540 et. seq. which provides for annual re-opener by mutual agreement. It is
appropriate to conduct a Public Hearing regarding these re-openers.
BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:
Budgetary implications are unknown at this time.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve a placeholder to conduct a Public Hearing regarding these
proposed re-openers which have been jointly agreed upon.
